Invention Was Made by Pedro and Shared on His Daughter Marina’s Social Media
The Brazilian never fails to surprise. The most recent creation comes from a man named Pedro, who lives in Ceará, who created a solar oven, independent of electricity and gas. The idea came up many years ago, and the man uses it so much that he has already built two for use at home. The simple yet innovative oven can cook food with solar energy without spending a cent on energy sources.
The model created is simple and made of cardboard, plastic, and aluminum foil, materials you probably have at home. It can bake any type of food without losing quality. And best of all: it doesn’t burn the food. Want to know more about this great gadget? Then read today’s article.

Designer Couple Has over 50,000 Followers and Showed Pedro’s Solar Oven on Their Social Media
The Ceará couple Marina and Michel have a YouTube channel and social media accounts named “MotionMe”. Through these channels, they share their experiences of living on a boat and their personal lives. The latest post was about an oven that works with solar energy and promises to cook everything, from meats to rice and vegetables. It is a simple and sustainable technology created by Marina’s father 8 years ago.

The structure is simple and made of recyclable materials like a cardboard box, some thermal insulating material, such as bubble wrap or shredded paper, and aluminum coating. However, the oven directly depends on the sunlight incidence. Since the Northeast region has strong sunlight during the day, this engineering works very well. It also helps save gas for cooking.
Mr. Pedro Highlights That Cooking with the Sun in the Solar Oven Is Slow and Leaves the Food Just Right, Including Pudding
According to the creator of the solar oven, Mr. Pedro, cooking follows the same principle as a normal gas or electric stove, where the food is heated and the moisture released helps keep the food at the ideal point. Marina also reports that she has even made pudding, and it turned out perfect using this amazing invention.
However, just like the oven, it is necessary to leave the food cooking for a considerable amount of time, for several hours. But the designer says you just need to put the food in and go do other things. When it’s time for lunch or dinner, the food will be ready to eat. And best of all: there’s a guarantee that it won’t be burned.

As the video from Marina and Michel made quite an impact, on their channel MotionMe, they made a post explaining the step-by-step process for others to make a solar oven with what they have at home. First, gather the materials you’ll need:
- Two cardboard boxes, one larger and one smaller;
- Bubble wrap or shredded paper;
- Empty egg tray or a small piece of wood;
- Black paint for metal;
- Aluminum foil;
- Metal plate;
- Transparent plastic or glass plate;
- Simple aluminum pot;
To start, take the larger box and fill it with the insulating material of your choice (bubble wrap or shredded paper). Then, place the smaller box on top of this lining and cover the entire inside with aluminum foil.
Next, use a spacer between the base of the smaller box and the metal plate, which can be the empty egg tray or a small piece of wood. Paint the metal plate and a thin aluminum pot with black paint to absorb heat. Place the plate on the spacer and the pot with a lid.
Finally, cover the box with transparent plastic or a glass plate and secure it well on the sides to seal in the heat and make your solar oven. You can create a frame for better support if necessary. Additionally, you can also create a space and add another layer of transparent plastic on top, which increases heat retention, as shown in the video.
Then, just place it in the sun and leave it for a few hours to save gas and electricity. You can prepare a complete meal with 2 ovens and still help the environment. Incredible, isn’t it?
