Designer couple has over 50 followers and showcased Pedro's solar oven on their social media

The couple from Ceará, Marina and Michel, has a YouTube channel and accounts on social networks called “MotionMe”. Through these channels, they publicize their experiences of living on a boat and personal life. The most recent disclosure was that of an oven that works with solar energy and promises to cook everything from meat to rice and vegetables. It is a simple and sustainable technology created by Marina's father 8 years ago.

The structure is simple and made up of recyclable materials such as a cardboard box, some thermal insulating material such as bubble wrap or shredded paper and aluminum coating. However, the oven depends directly on the sun incidence. As in the Northeast region the incidence is high during the day, this engineering worked very well. And it even helps save gas for cooking.

Senhor Pedro points out that cooking by the sun in the solar oven is slow and leaves food at just the right point, including pudding.

According to the creator of the solar oven, Mr. Pedro, cooking follows the same principle as a normal stove, powered by gas or electricity, in which the food is heated and the moisture released helps to leave the food at the ideal point. Daughter Marina even reports that she has even made pudding and got the perfect consistency using this incredible invention.

However, just like the oven, it is necessary to let the food cook for a considerable amount of time, for a few hours. But, the designer says it's just putting the food and going to do other things. When it's time for lunch or dinner, the food will be ready for consumption. And the best: with the guarantee that it will not be burned.

Want to know how to do it? Then check out the step by step.

As the video of Marina and Michel was talked about, on your channel MotionMe, they made a post explaining the step by step so that other people can make the solar oven with what they have at home. First, gather the materials you will need:

  • Two cardboard boxes, one larger and one smaller;
  • Bubble wrap or shredded paper;
  • Empty egg tray or small piece of wood;
  • Black paint for metals;
  • Aluminum paper;
  • sheet metal;
  • Transparent plastic or glass plate;
  • Simple aluminum pan;

To start, take the largest box and fill it with the insulating material of your choice (bubble wrap or shredded paper). Then, accommodate the smaller box over this liner and cover the entire interior with aluminum foil.

Then use a spacer between the base of the smaller box and the metal plate, which could be the empty egg tray or a small piece of wood. Paint the metal sheet and a thin aluminum pan with black paint to absorb heat. Place the griddle over the spacer material and the pot with lid.

Finally, cover the box with a clear plastic or glass plate and secure it tightly to the sides to seal in the heat and make your solar oven. You can create a frame to hold it better if you find it necessary. In addition, it is also possible to make a gap and create another layer of transparent plastic above, which increases heat retention, as shown in the video.

So, just put it in the sun and leave it for a few hours and save gas and electricity. You can cook a full meal with 2 ovens and still help the environment. Amazing, isn't it?
