The BPC Installment Will Be Paid Between August 25 and September 5 for Those Entitled to the Assistance Benefit
The Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC), considered the largest benefit for elderly individuals in vulnerable situations in Brazil, now has a date for deposit. According to INSS, the disbursements will begin on August 25 and continue until September 5, according to the penultimate digit of the Benefit Number (NB) of the holder.
The amount corresponds to one minimum wage (R$ 1,518.00 in 2025) and can be checked in advance on the Meu INSS website or app. The BPC is paid to elderly individuals aged 65 or older and people with disabilities who prove low income, even if they have never contributed to Social Security.
Who Is Entitled to the BPC and How Does It Work?
To receive the benefit, it is necessary to prove that the family income per person is less than a quarter of the minimum wage and to be registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) with updated information. In the case of people with disabilities, medical examination and social assessment are also required.

For elderly individuals, the process is more straightforward. It is enough to be 65 years or older, meet the family income criteria, and present updated personal documents. The BPC is not retirement and does not require a minimum contribution time, making it one of the main tools to combat poverty in the country.
How to Apply for the Benefit for the Elderly?
The BPC application can be made online, through the Meu INSS website or app, by logging into the gov.br account. The applicant must select the option “Assistance Benefit for the Elderly” and attach the required documents. The analysis period can take up to 45 business days, varying according to demand and case complexity.
Those with questions can call the Central 135 for free, which operates from Monday to Saturday. It is also possible to obtain guidance at the nearest CRAS (Center for Social Assistance Reference), especially for updating registration in the CadÚnico.
When Will the BPC Payment Be Made in 2025?
The INSS calendar for the BPC payment in August 2025 follows the standard for benefits of up to one minimum wage. The exact date depends on the penultimate number of the NB of the beneficiary. Payments occur from August 25 to September 5, organizing disbursements and avoiding queues at agencies.
The guidance from INSS is for beneficiaries to check the date and amount through the Meu INSS app, in the “Payment Statement” section, where information such as responsible bank, agency, and batch number is also available.
How to Maintain the Benefit Without Interruptions?
To avoid blockages or cancellations, the main care is to keep the CadÚnico updated. The Ministry of Social Development and Assistance conducts periodic data cross-checks, and any inconsistencies may lead to temporary suspension of the benefit.
Whenever there is a change in income, family composition, or change of address, the holder must contact the local CRAS to update the information. Staying current with the registration ensures not only the continuation of the BPC but also access to other social programs.
