The Açu Port Is Planning to Begin Operations of the GNA 1 Thermoelectric Plant in the Second Quarter of 2021.

The project for the GNA 1 thermoelectric plant is currently in the commissioning process, which is part of an investment of around R$ 9 billion, which also involves a LNG regasification terminal, and also the construction of a second thermoelectric plant, GNA 2, which is expected to consume around R$ 4.5 billion of the total budget applied at the Açu Port.

GNA Thermoelectric Operation Expected in 2021

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the region, the expected start of operation of the thermoelectric plant at Açu Port, announced in a press conference on the morning of Wednesday, the 9th, by CEO of Prumo Logística, Carlos Tadeu Fraga. The start of the GNA 2 construction has been postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic.

The LNG terminal is finished and will soon receive its first shipments. Concurrently, the company states that it is in an advanced licensing process for a UPGN. The facility will have a capacity of up to 40 MMm³/d in modular expansion.

Açu Port Aims to Participate in Auctions for GNA Thermoelectric Plants

According to Prumo Logística CEO, Carlos Fraga, it is included in the short-term plans the completion of two gas transport pipelines. The Gasinfe and the Gasog. One connects Açu Port to the Cabiúnas terminal in Macaé, and the other connects Açu Port to GASCAV.
