The State Government of ES In Partnership With ABSOLAR Is Creating A Solar Energy Project That Will Be Able To Triple Investments Not Only In The Region But Around Brazil
The program responsible for tripling investments in solar energy in ES is called Programa Gerar, with full support from the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Energy Association (ABSOLAR). The project could be a milestone in Brazilian distributed generation.

ES Plans To Take An Even Better Position In The State Solar Energy Ranking
Currently, ES occupies the 16th position in the state ranking of photovoltaic energy in distributed generation, generating around 73.4 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity in this modality, totaling about 5.3 thousand small-scale generation systems.
The idea is that with the project, more investments in solar energy will be sought for the region and consequently the position in the state ranking will improve. The state of ES has already received over R$ 350 million in investments from local entrepreneurs and consumers.

Distributed Generation Programs Are Being Implemented in Several States to Attract Investments
Recently, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Eduardo Braga, signed an ordinance creating the Distributed Generation Development Program (ProGD) to encourage the generation of photovoltaic energy from solar panels within consumer units that can be shared with the electricity distribution system. The government foresees a potential investment of R$ 100 billion in these technologies, with 2.7 million consumer units expected to join the program by 2030.
— Brazil has significant solar potential. Our location is within the solar belt. The highest intensity occurs from September to November, during the dry season, when we have lower hydropower generation. There is quite significant complementarity — said the Secretary of Electricity of the MME, Ildo Grudtner, highlighting the environmental advantages of the system.
