Stellantis, owner of brands such as Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën and others, says it will bring new electric cars to Brazil, with the aim of electrifying the country later this year.

Stellantis, owner of brands such as Peugeot, Opel, Jeep, Fiat, Citroën and others, will bring its first electric cars to Brazil in 2021. The automotive group, which comprises FCA and PSA, will fulfill its promise putting into practice its electric vehicle plan in the country, with several investments to create an infrastructure with the launch of models.

Stellantis' strategy to electrify Brazil

In addition to the launches already made of the models Fiat 500 electric and 208% electric Peugeot 100 e-GT, Stellantis, through Antonio Filosa, president of the brand in South America, gave more details on the strategy of bringing more electric cars to the country.

Filosa claims that electric cars are a trend that is emerging all over the world, and Brazil cannot be left out, even if it is at a slower pace than other markets. As the electric car market is still in its infancy in Brazil, the idea is to bring electric vehicles from the Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot and Citroën brands.

President of the brand in Latin America speaks

Antonio Filosa says that electrification is growing more and more, especially in Asian and European countries. In Brazil, this process should take a little longer, compared to other countries. He claims that Stellantis wants to import cars from different brands, in order to better understand how the Brazilian market welcomes these new technologies. By the end of 2021, the country should receive the 500, from Fiat, the Jeep Compass, a Peugeot and another Citroën.

Therefore, we can wait for the electric ones already confirmed in the country, such as the Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep models, and also the Citroën model, which has not yet been revealed.

Stellantis' intention is to boost the Peugeot and Citroën brands, with the aim of making their electric cars reach the level of Fiat and Jeep when it comes to sales and market share, a strategy that will also apply to the electric car segment.

Possible electric cars from Citroën that should arrive soon in Brazil

Citroën has launched the ë-C4, its 100% electric version based on the newest generation of the C4 model, an electric car that has a high probability of coming to Brazil. Another very likely option would be the plug-in hybrid C5 Aircross.

The Citroën ë-C4 has several elements that are present in other PSA Group electric cars, such as the 50 kWh battery and the 136 horsepower engine. This guarantees him an autonomy of approximately 350 km on a single charge.
