Citroën Ami, Electric Car from Citroën, Will Be Sold in the US. It Is Expected to Be Part of a Vehicle Subscription Fleet
Car manufacturers know that the future of transportation will be powered by electricity instead of polluting fuels. Citroën was quite bold in producing the small Citroën Ami, a tiny electric car that has only two seats and was made for a specific audience. The company is now bringing the European vehicle to the US market.
The vehicle will be part of a subscription-based car-sharing fleet by a company in the US. The company is Free2Move, which provides sharing services.
How Does It Work?
The driver pays a monthly fee and gains access to a range of electric vehicles from Peugeot and Citroën across various cities. The idea is to target a niche market of people who do not have space or time for their own vehicle.

More Details About the Citroën Ami
The company highlighted that the Ami Citroën comes equipped with a 5.5 kWh battery, in addition to a 6kw motor. It allows the driver to reach speeds of up to 45 km/h and a range of 70 km. It measures 2.41 m in length, 1.39 m in width, and 1.52 m in height. It uses a 14-inch wheel.

Even though it is very small, the Citroën Ami features a very elegant sunroof, in addition to high-quality internal heating. The electric vehicle from Citroen is sold in the European market for around 6,000 dollars. The vehicle is light, small, and relatively inexpensive.

However, it is still uncertain whether it will find a place outside of Europe given its low maximum speed. Nevertheless, the focus of the Ami is to attract customers who need an electric car solely for short trips. Additionally, it was also designed with a younger audience in mind.
