Learn More About BYD’s Logistics Operation for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Recently Registered in Southern Brazil.

The city of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, was the stage for an unprecedented achievement in the sector: the unloading and movement of over two thousand BYD vehicles, the Chinese giant that has been transforming the global and Brazilian automotive market.

The complexity of the containerized cargo and the necessary speed for the process were overcome by a local company, consolidating the region as a strategic hub for car distribution in the country.

The Logistics Giant in Action: Two Thousand BYD Vehicles Unload in Itajaí

The logistics operation that moved over two thousand BYD vehicles in Itajaí is a testament to the capacity and infrastructure of the sector in Southern Brazil.

The process, led by Tecadi, one of the main logistics operators in the region, began with the arrival of over 665 containers at the Port of Itajaí, all coming directly from China. The size of the containerized cargo already indicated the enormity of the challenge.

Since the end of June, when the cargo arrived, the operation has not stopped. Operating 24 hours a day, the Tecadi team orchestrated a true ballet of vehicles and equipment.

The process included the road transportation of the containers from the port to the company’s logistics center in Itajaí, the meticulous unloading of each vehicle from within the containers using specialized forklifts, and finally, the secure storage before distribution throughout the national territory.

This speed is crucial for the BYD vehicles to quickly reach dealerships and, consequently, Brazilian consumers.

Rafael Dagnoni, co-founder of Tecadi, highlighted the importance of this achievement: “This operation marks a new milestone for the company, reinforcing the trust of major global brands in our infrastructure and demonstrating our ability to execute complex operations with agility, technology, and alignment with sustainability and innovation principles.”

This trust from BYD in a Brazilian operator underscores the strategic importance of Itajaí in the automaker’s supply chain.

Containerized Cargo: The Challenge and Efficiency in Unloading BYD Vehicles

The movement of automotive vehicles in containerized cargo is a logistical process that requires expertise and specific equipment.

Unlike the roll-on/roll-off ship transport (which allows vehicles to drive in and out of the ship), the container method, although more complex in unloading, offers advantages in terms of safety and protection of the cargo against the elements and damage during maritime transport.

For BYD, which has been rapidly expanding its presence in the Brazilian market, this efficient logistics operation is vital.

It ensures that the two thousand BYD vehicles arrive in perfect condition and are ready for distribution. Melissa Toresin, import and export supervisor at BYD Auto do Brasil, praised the success and speed of the vehicle movement, highlighting the company partner’s “operational excellence.”

This collaboration is fundamental to meeting deadlines and satisfying the growing demand for the brand’s electrified cars.

Itajaí: The Logistics Hub Attracting Giants Like BYD

The choice of Itajaí for this monumental logistics operation was not by chance. The city and its port have established themselves as one of the main logistics hubs in Brazil, especially for the south and southeast of the country.

With prominent logistics operators, robust infrastructure, and a strategic location, Itajaí offers the ideal conditions for large-volume and high-complexity movements.

Tecadi, with over 18 years of experience and a modern structure that includes over 300,000 m² of storage area and a fleet of more than 460 vehicles, demonstrates the local capability to meet the needs of companies the size of BYD.

The ability to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, between ports, is a differentiator that ensures the necessary fluidity for the logistics operation of such expressive volumes.

The success in unloading the two thousand BYD vehicles is a testament to the growing importance of Itajaí in the national logistics scene, reinforcing its role as a gateway for the arrival of vehicles, especially electric and hybrid ones that are shaping the future of mobility in Brazil.
