In An Official Announcement, Toyota Motor Declared the Suspension of All Operations in Its 14 Factories in Japan.
The Reason? A Critical Failure in the Computer System Responsible for Processing Parts Orders. This Malfunction Led to the Initial Shutdown of 25 Production Lines, Which Soon Was Extended, Reaching a Total of 28 Lines.
What Really Happened?
According to Toyota Motor, the failure is not related to any cyber attack and is an issue exclusive to the Japanese units. “At this time, we believe it is not a cyber attack,” said a Toyota spokesperson.
Production on the Rise, Even with Obstacles
It is worth noting that, despite recent setbacks, such as the shortage of semiconductors and other supply chain issues in the past year, Toyota saw a 10.3% growth in its global production.
