Being Able to Leave Even the Tesla Model S Plaid Behind, Chinese Brand Develops an Electric Car Prototype That Costs US$ 3 Million and Can Reach a Speed of 350 km/h
Unlike the IndyCar and Formula 1 categories, the prototype category can be a “preview” of models that may hit the streets, even if they come at a price above the norm, like the electric car, Nio EP9, the fastest and most expensive ever created, able to leave even Tesla’s Model S Plaid in the dust.

Moreover, the company also offers some of the more expensive production models in the automotive sector, making its vehicles the dream of electric car enthusiasts. However, no electric car can surpass the Nio EP9, and unfortunately, no matter how much money is in your bank account, you cannot go to a dealership and purchase a unit of the model.
This is because the EP9 is, for now, an electric prototype, meaning the electric car that outperforms the Model S Plaid is just a project designed to showcase all the potential that such models can achieve. Currently, if it were a production car and its units were sold on the market, the prototype would reach a price of US$ 3.48 million.
Electric Car That Surpasses Tesla’s Model Can Reach 350 km/h
In track tests, the electric prototype showed that it can reach 350 km/h, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.55 seconds and from 0 to 300 km/h in 15.9 seconds. The model is constructed entirely from carbon fiber, making it extremely lightweight, and its two batteries can be replaced in just two minutes, which is very useful considering it’s a racing electric car.
Nio is a manufacturer of the NextEV group in China, which also owns the Nio 333 FE Team in Formula E, the FIA category for electric single-seaters. According to a company spokesman, the Nio EP9 aims to push boundaries and prove the power that electric cars can achieve, but one day, it may become a production electric car available for purchase in specific stores.
Also Meet the Tesla Model S Plaid
With a price that can reach R$ 1,099,000 in Brazil, the Tesla Model S Plaid can achieve a speed of 320 km/h; however, what makes it unique is its ability to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.99 seconds.
To make this possible, Tesla’s electric car features three motors, providing the vehicle with a power of 1020 horsepower. The vehicle also has ultra-fast charging, able to charge 300 km of range in just fifteen minutes, with a total range of 627 km on a single charge.
