According to Petrobras, as the forecast for product withdrawals from Refap is made by clients approximately two months in advance, coinciding with the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was an expectation of low sales for diesel during that period.
“With the change in the scenario and the unexpected increase in demand, we had to adapt our industrial plant to meet the customers. The result was possible thanks to the integrated work of the operational and Commercialization areas of the refinery,” explains Refap General Manager Osvaldo Kawakami.

Petrobras Aims to Sell Stake in BR Distribuidora Next Semester
According to information from industry sources reported by Money Times. The transaction is part of the state-owned company’s divestment program, as a measure to reduce its debt.
BR Distribuidora was privatized in 2019 through a stock offering. Petrobras now wants to sell as much as it can of its remaining 37.5% stake in the company, which operates 7,700 fuel stations nationwide.
Petrobras’ stake, at current prices, is worth 9.7 billion reais. BR Distribuidora’s shares suffered a drastic reduction due to the coronavirus, but have since been recovering partially, although they still show a 25% drop for the year.
BR Distribuidora’s press office denies that the company has decided to make a primary offering, according to Money Times. However, sources had said that the company was evaluating the matter.
