The minister highlighted in the meeting the importance of, even with the closure of businesses, ensuring the operation of workshops, tire shops, and roadside restaurants to support transportation professionals. “We need to ensure that when leaving home, truck drivers have a place to eat, a place to fix their trucks, and most importantly, that they are safe.”
In addition to a draft decree, the mayors will be advised by the Ministry of Infrastructure through a technical note. The National Confederation of Municipalities – CNM will assist with the distribution to all 5,571 municipalities in Brazil.
For the president of the National Confederation of Municipalities, Glademir Arolde, this measure is important to align the actions proposed by the Federal Government with those of the municipalities.
“It is necessary for the municipalities to be aligned to keep gas stations, roadside restaurants, tire shops, and auto parts stores operational.”
STATES – During the meeting, Minister Tarcísio emphasized the importance of state governments’ support for transportation professionals.
Since the first meeting of the National Council of State Secretaries of Transport (CONSETRANS), seven states have already made adjustments to decrees, and several governors have expressed support for the sector.
