Nidec Announces Investments in New Production Line, With Capacity of 2.5 Million Compressors/Year. Jobs Will Be Created
Nidec Global Appliance (formerly Embraco) announced investments in the establishment of a new production line with an installed capacity of 2.5 million compressors per year, which will generate 200 new job vacancies in the city of Joinville, in Santa Catarina. A total of 100 million reais will be invested in the company’s new project.

Investments in the New Production Line, in Joinville, Santa Catarina
The forecast is that the new production line will begin in the second half of this year. With the new line, production will increase by 17%; today the production capacity of the Joinville factory is approximately 17 million compressors per year, and it will increase to 20 million compressors per year. The new investment by the company will also lead to the creation of new jobs.
Joinville hosts the largest compressor factory of Nidec Global Appliance, which originated from the Embraco brand, celebrating its 50th anniversary on March 10. Despite this new investment, the Japanese group has already invested 200 million reais in three subsidiaries in Santa Catarina since 2019.

Job Creation
In addition to the already announced investment of 100 million reais and the creation of direct jobs, it will also have a positive impact on the entire industrial chain: more than 40 external partners will participate in the expansion project, 80% of whom are national.
The Joinville unit has a total area of 200 thousand square meters and has 5 thousand job vacancies already filled.
According to Nidec Global Appliance’s CEO, Valter Taranzano, “We are working on increasing the production capacity indexes of our three Nidec Global Appliance factories in Santa Catarina, a region where we have continued to invest for the past five decades. This is a direct result of the work of a skilled and committed team, combined with over R$ 200 million invested since 2019.”
