Agricultural machine is a powerful and long-span transporter with interchangeable implements that can perform soil preparation, seeding, plant protection and harvesting tasks.
The future of global crop production was revealed after receiving a Gold Medal at the 2022 Agritechnica Innovation Awards of the German Agricultural Society (DLG). Praise went to Nexat GmbH for its holistic system of revolution agricultural production, based on a single transport vehicle that can be equipped with all necessary implements for tasks from soil preparation to harvesting.

The German company Nexat was formed in 2017 with the aim of revolutionizing agricultural production. In fact, director Felix Kalverkamp said, “We don't need more optimization of existing technology, we need something holistically new!” That's a bold claim, but supported by the involvement of his father and fellow director Klemens Kaverkamp, whose resume includes senior management roles at Grimme.
The company also enjoys the support of other leading agricultural machine manufacturers, including spraying specialist Dammann, harvesting specialists Geringhoff and cultivation and drilling giant Väderstad, whose chairman Crister Stark said: “For long-term, climate-neutral farming climate terms and resource economics, a rethink must take place, both agriculturally and technologically, in harmony with nature”.

The world's first and only holistic agricultural production system that can respond to the challenges of the future in technical, economic and ecological terms
Nexat emphasizes that its innovation is not just a vision or a dream of the future. The new agricultural production system has already been in use for several years on selected farms under real conditions. And with great success.
“It is the synergy of 50 years of experience in development and state-of-the-art technology from leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery”, says the company. “The result is the Nexta revolution: the world's first and only holistic agricultural production system that can respond to the challenges of the future in technical, economic and ecological terms. It is a milestone for the development of CO2 neutral agriculture in Germany, Europe and the world.”
At the core of Nexat's system is a powerful, wide-range hauler vehicle with interchangeable implements that can perform soil preparation, seeding, plant protection and harvesting tasks, using modular attachments developed in close collaboration with well-known and reputable manufacturers. Modules can be changed by one person in less than 10 minutes, and there are plans to fully automate this process in the near future.
It could be argued that tractor-mounted combines mean there's nothing new here, but the Nexat revolution takes the concept several steps further: firstly, the system is 14m wide and designed for use in controlled traffic systems - that means that only five percent of the field is driven, compared to 60 to 80 percent under the average machine.
Nexat says the new concept is closely aligned with the goals and challenges of today's farmers, such as increasing their productivity per hectare and improving their farm's profitability as a result. It also helps farmers take significant steps towards more forward-looking and climate-neutral farming practices, managing valuable resources more sustainably and responsibly. Potential benefits are:
- earning potential > 10-30 percent increased
- power consumption > 30 percent reduced
- costs/technique > 20 percent saved
- profit increase > 50 percent possible
The combination Nexat-NexCo therefore gives rise to a completely new dimension of threshing performance when you take into account that the hauling vehicle is used throughout the year. The concept heralds a paradigm shift in agriculture and should be viewed positively in terms of resource savings and ecology.
Another bold claim is that Nexat is not just another development that promises short-term gains in profit and income. It's a solid plan to bring agriculture permanently back in sync with nature.
