Ocean Infinity, a Research and Exploration Company, Launches a New Pioneering Ocean Robotics and Data Technology Company Called Armada.

Ocean Infinity stated that Armada, focusing on the combination of technology and sustainability, would initially add fifteen custom-built underwater robots to the current fleet of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) of Ocean Infinity.

According to the company, the launch of Armada marks a significant technological advancement in the sector. Each uncrewed surface robot will serve a wide range of industries, being fully equipped to perform a multitude of offshore data acquisition and intervention operations up to a depth of 6,000 meters.

These robotic vessels will be capable of remotely deploying a wide array of the latest sensors, in addition to AUVs and ROVs for visual and acoustic data acquisition.

The Armada fleet does not require people on board or a nearby host vessel. Instead, they will be controlled and operated by experienced mariners via satellite communications from ground facilities in Austin, TX, and Southampton.

The fleet’s approach produces up to 90% less CO2 than other conventional research vessels, making it also the most environmentally sustainable company in the sector.

The Armada fleet is currently under construction and is expected to be deployed by the end of 2020.
