Petrobras' FPSO Capixaba has been out of operation since April and will return to operation in the third quarter of this year, according to the state-owned company. The unit suffered a major outbreak of the coronavirus among its workers and, therefore, was stopped to undergo a disinfection process.

Out of operation, Petrobras stopped producing 35 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the second quarter of this year. The state-owned company was able to negotiate with SBM, which owns the ship, a temporary suspension of the platform contract, which will be resumed when the unit returns to production.
Furthermore, the period of suspension of the unit's contract is being used by SBM to carry out works on the platform, with a view to increasing operational efficiency. The unit produces at Parque das Baleias and is chartered by Petrobras until April 2022.
