A Collection Of 0Km Cars Was Discovered In A Closed Dealership For More Than 20 Years! Among The Models Are Rare Items Such As A VW Beetle 1600 Special Series, A VW Quantum 2.0 Evidence, And Even A Flawless SP2. Now, The Vehicles Will Be Exported, But Before, They Will Be On Display For Enthusiasts. A True Historical Find!

Imagine Finding A Real Time Capsule In The Interior Of Brazil.

That’s What Happened In Estrela, Rio Grande Do Sul, Where A Volkswagen Dealership, With Over 20 Years Of History, Kept A Collection Of Zero Kilometer Cars That Had Been Hidden All This Time.

The Story Is Set Against The Background Of Comercial Gaúcha, A Traditional Establishment In The Region, Which Has Become A Mystery And Now Attracts Curious Onlookers And Automotive Enthusiasts.

The Models, Which Remained In Their Original And Preserved State, Will Be Exported To The United States, But Before That, They Will Be Available For The Brazilian Public To Appreciate.

Comercial Gaúcha, Founded By Otmar Essig, A Businessman Who Passed Away In 2022, Kept Its Vehicles On-Site, As If The Store Were Still In Operation.

Otmar Closed The Dealership In 2001, But He Regularly Visited The Location Until 2017, The Year His Health Prevented Him From Continuing This Habit.

During This Time, He Kept Cars From The 1980s And 1990s, Still Looking New, Without Ever Hitting The Streets.

Additionally, The Store’s Furniture And Parts Remained Intact, As If Time Had Stopped In That Space.

The Collection Found By Otmar’s Family Consists Of Volkswagen Models, Totaling Six Vehicles.

These Cars, Which Were Kept With Great Care, Spent Years Without Being Exposed To The Public, And Now They Are Creating A True Revolution In The Automotive Market.

Among The Cars In The Collection, The Highlights Are:

– A VW Beetle 1600 From 1986, Special Series.

– A VW Quantum 2.0 MI Evidence From 1996.

– Other Rare Examples, Such As The Famous SP2, Manufactured In The 1970s.

These Vehicles Are A Real Find For Fans Of Classic Cars, As They Retain Their Original Features And Are In Excellent Condition.

The 1986 Beetle, For Instance, Still Has The Plastic Covers On The Seats, Indicating That The Car Has Never Been Used.

Furthermore, The Volkswagen Quantum 2.0 MI Evidence, Which Was Once A Gift From The Owner To His Wife, Is Another Model That Draws Attention For Its Preservation.

The Story Of This “Discovery” Is Not Only Fascinating For Classic Car Lovers But Also For Curious Minds Wondering How Such A Thing Was Possible.

According To Anderson Dick, CEO Of FuelTech, Who Acted As An Intermediary In The Sale Of The Vehicles, The Negotiation Was Conducted Discreetly, Without Public Announcements.

The Transaction Was Handled By Otmar Essig’s Family After The Businessman’s Passing, And The Final Buyer Was Claude Senhoreti, A Collector Of Supercars And Historical Vehicles Residing In The United States.

“The Negotiation Was Carried Out Privately, Without Any Announcements, And Took Almost Five Months To Be Finalized,” Says Anderson Dick.

The Sale Process Began After The Family’s Legal Procedures To Regularize The Sale Of The Vehicles And Ensure Everything Was In Compliance With The Legislation.

There Was No Public Sale Or Exhibition Of Any Of The Models, Making The Discovery Even More Surprising.

“There Were Two 1996 Beetles, Zero Kilometer, That Were Kept In A Locked Room, Never Exposed To The Sun. They Are In Perfect Condition,” Highlights Dick.

In Addition To The Beetles And The Quantum, The Collection Includes A Volkswagen SP2 From 1975, A Car That Marked An Era In The Brazilian Automotive Industry And Which, In The Case Of Comercial Gaúcha, Was In Excellent Condition, With Only 8,150 Kilometers Driven.

The Collection Also Included Other Rare Models, Such As The 1986 Beetle, Which Remains In Its Original State, With All The Details From The Era, Like The Plastic Covers On The Seats, And Is Being Carefully Restored.

This Beetle, For Example, Had A Problem With The Engine Block Due To The Ethanol Deposited In The Oil, But It Is Being Restored And Should Work Like New Again.

Moreover, The Restoration Process Is Also Underway For Other Vehicles In The Collection, Such As The VW Quantum, Which, Despite Being Stored For Years, Maintains Its Original Paint And Mechanics In Perfect Condition.

The Fate Of The Cars: The Future Of The Collection

After The Sale And Completion Of All Legal Procedures, The Cars Were Transported To Porto Alegre, Where They Will Undergo A Rigorous Inspection.

The Remaining Question Is Whether The Collection Will Be Kept In Its Original State Or Undergo A Deep Cleaning.

Some Of The Cars Still Retain The Original Factory Wax, Further Increasing The Historical And Market Value Of The Models.

“We Got All The Cars Running, Except The 1986 Beetle, Which Is Being Restored. For The Others, It Was Enough To Change The Oil, Clean The Fuel Lines, And Put In New Batteries,” Explains Anderson Dick.

This Demonstrates The Extreme Care Taken In Preserving The Vehicles, Which, Even After Being Stored For So Long, Did Not Present Significant Mechanical Issues.

The Next Step For The Cars Will Be Exportation To The United States, Where They Will Be Part Of A Collection Of Historical Vehicles.

“The Cars Are Being Displayed To The Public In Porto Alegre, And We Hold Monthly Meetups With Automotive Enthusiasts, Where The Models Are On Display. The Next Event Will Be On April 13, With Free Admission,” Reveals Anderson Dick, Who Organizes The Meetups In Honor Of The Former Dealership Comercial Gaúcha.

These Meetups, Known As “FuelTech And Chimarrão,” Are A Real Attraction For Classic Car Enthusiasts, Providing A Unique Opportunity To See Up Close Models That Marked The Automotive History Of Brazil.

A True Treasure On Wheels

This Story Is A True Demonstration Of How The Love For Classic Cars And The Preservation Of Heritage Can Lead To Surprising Discoveries.

Comercial Gaúcha, Once A Nearly Forgotten Store For Many Years, Now Became A Landmark For Automotive Enthusiasts, Providing A True Time Capsule With Historical Vehicles That Remain Practically Intact.

Whether For Their Historical Value, The Rarity Of The Models, Or The Story Behind The Collection, There Is No Doubt That These Cars Have Become One Of The Greatest Treasures Of Brazilian Automotive History.

And For Fans, It Will Be A Unique Experience To See These Relics Before Their Final Export.
