Clear Strategy to Strengthen Internal Market with Local Production
On July 14, 2025, TCL Semp’s president, Ricardo Freitas, highlighted in an interview that local production is essential to ensure that Brazil remains relevant in the global scenario.
During the Brazil Investment Forum 2025, held in São Paulo, Freitas pointed out that, despite high costs, internal production enables job creation.
It also reduces the impact of taxes on imports. Thus, according to him, the strategy ensures that the national industry becomes more competitive.

With 74% of companies facing difficulties in hiring, technicians and engineers in renewable energy are becoming scarce in Brazil and are essential to support the expansion of solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects.

Historic bankruptcy of Centauro shocks the market, and the century-old company puts more than 500,000 products, machines, and complete infrastructure up for online auction.

No one imagined it, but a mixture of sawdust with a mineral that fights fires surprises scientists with a result that changes the course of fire-resistant construction.
For Freitas, for over ten years, TCL Semp has been investing in modernizing factories in Manaus.
The company strengthens partnerships with Brazilian suppliers. Since 2013, the company has been expanding assembly lines for televisions and appliances in the country.
This strategic decision, according to the CEO, allows for overcoming logistical bottlenecks. It also helps with currency fluctuations and tax pressures that increase the cost of imported products.
Regional Partnerships Boost Productive Chain
Furthermore, the executive emphasized that, to advance, the industry needs stable tax incentives.
Still in July 2025, he pointed out that the ongoing debates regarding the Manaus Free Trade Zone affect investment security.
Therefore, he advocates for greater predictability in tax rules. Thus, TCL Semp maintains contracts with around 150 local suppliers.
The company strengthens the productive chain and fosters technological innovation. Although the tax burden remains a challenge, the gain in efficiency compensates.
This reinforces the need for national production as a solid strategy for the industry to remain relevant.
Internal Consumption Demands Accessible Products
Therefore, Ricardo Freitas emphasized that the industry needs to invest in technology to offer products at a competitive price.
This way, internal consumption remains strong, sustaining factories in full operation. During the forum, the CEO recalled that, in 2024, the electronics sector closed with an 8% growth in Brazil.
The data was released by the National Association of Manufacturers of Electrical and Electronic Products (Eletros). Thus, for 2025, the expectation is to maintain this growth trajectory.
This depends on incentives not being abruptly altered, according to the executive.
Industrial Modernization Guarantees Efficiency
Freitas explained that the automation of production lines in Manaus, implemented since 2022, has allowed for waste reduction and resource optimization.
This way, the final cost to the consumer was contained, even with the dollar rising at the beginning of 2025. In addition, the executive argued that Industry 4.0 is a path of no return.
The electronics sector depends on investments in robotization, professional training, and research.
These actions are priorities for keeping TCL Semp at the forefront of the segment.
Long-Term Vision Sustains Competitiveness
In conclusion, Freitas reiterated that producing in Brazil goes far beyond simply reducing logistical costs.
According to him, it is a strategy to ensure productive autonomy, generate skilled jobs, and keep the economy heated. Thus, TCL Semp plans new investments in green technology.
The goal is to reduce environmental impacts and expand partnerships with local startups. Finally, Freitas states that although challenges persist, betting on national production is the only way forward.
This decision maintains global competitiveness in the coming years.
