New Fiat Toro MHEV 2027 debuts as the brand’s first electrified pickup in Brazil, with a 48V mild hybrid system, 1.3 turbo flex engine with 176 hp, and starting price of R$ 197,490 in the Volcano version

The Fiat Toro 2027 arrived in the Brazilian market with adjustments across the entire price list and an important change in the intermediate flex versions. The pickup, leader among intermediates since its launch in 2016, now offers the 48 Volt mild hybrid system in the Volcano and Ultra configurations, which became up to R$ 5,000 more expensive compared to the 2026 line.

The novelty marks the debut of electrification in Fiat’s pickup in Brazil. The MHEV set, already applied to models like Jeep Renegade and Commander 2027, now exclusively equips the Volcano T270 Flex MHEV AT6 and Ultra T270 Flex MHEV AT6 versions. With this, the Toro becomes the manufacturer’s first electrified pickup in the country.

Prices of the Fiat Toro 2027 rise in all versions

In the new table, the Fiat Toro Endurance T270 Flex AT6 went from R$ 165,490 to R$ 167,490. The Freedom T270 Flex AT6 rose from R$ 175,490 to R$ 177,490. Meanwhile, the Volcano T270 Flex MHEV AT6 went from R$ 192,490 to R$ 197,490, a difference of R$ 5,000.

The Ultra T270 Flex MHEV AT6 also became more expensive, going from R$ 202,490 to R$ 206,490. In the diesel versions, the Volcano TD450 Diesel AT9 went from R$ 217,490 to R$ 220,490, while the Ultra TD450 Diesel AT9 rose from R$ 235,490 to R$ 238,490.

The adjustment in the mild hybrid configurations is explained by the arrival of the new 48V system and the inclusion of new equipment. The 2027 line also starts to offer a driver assistance package as standard in all versions, with autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and automatic high beam. However, adaptive cruise control remains off the list.

In the Volcano and Ultra versions, the 1.3 turbo flex four-cylinder engine continues to deliver 176 hp of power and 27.5 kgfm of torque with any fuel. The difference lies in the mild hybrid system, consisting of a 16 hp electric motor installed in place of the traditional alternator and starter motor. It assists in starts, recovers energy, and powers a 0.85 kWh battery.

Electrified pickup tries to maintain leadership among intermediates

Fiat has retained the six-speed automatic transmission in the electrified flex versions. The 4×4 traction and nine-speed automatic transmission remain reserved for the 2.2 turbodiesel options. According to the brand, the Toro MHEV 2027 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and reaches a top speed of 197 km/h.

In terms of consumption, the Toro Volcano MHEV records 10.5 km/l in the city and 10.7 km/l on the highway with gasoline, according to official data from Inmetro. Compared to the non-electrified flex version, the improvement in the urban cycle with gasoline reaches 11.7%. The estimated urban range is around 577 km.

Despite the price increase, Fiat bets on mild electrification to keep the Toro competitive in a segment expected to receive new rivals, such as Volkswagen Tukan, BYD Mako, and Renault Niagara. The pickup ended 2025 with 52,129 registrations and now tries to defend its position with more technology, new equipment, and a higher price list.
