The production of solar energy in Brazil in the first 15 days of 2020 rose to 590 average megawatts (MWa), up from 507 MWa a year ago, an increase of 16.3%. Biomass energy generation increased from 1,074 MWa to 1,068 MWa. Hydroelectric plants (UHE) produced 50,763 MWa, down from 55,802 MWa the previous year. Brazil saw a huge increase in gas energy generation to 6,445 MWa, up from 2,912 MWa a year ago.
