INSS Does Not Seek Your Evidence: Three Ignored Documents (PPP, Old Work Card, and Contribution Receipts) Can Double Your Retirement; Mateus Freitas’s Live Mentions Review and STF on the 28th.
According to lawyer Mateus Freitas, partner at ABL Advogados, the INSS does not seek evidence on its own. This means that those who do not provide essential documents risk having their retirement calculated incorrectly and receiving less than they should. The correct submission of three forgotten pieces of evidence: PPP, old work card, and contribution receipts can even double the amount of the benefit.
In practice, the INSS only considers what is in the administrative process. If the insured does not submit the documents, periods of work or entire contributions are left out of the calculation.
That is why experts reinforce the importance of reviewing stored files and digitizing old evidence to avoid losing legitimate amounts.

What Documents Can Increase Retirement?
The first is the PPP (Professional Profile Report). This document proves exposure to harmful agents such as noise, chemicals, or biological risk.
Without the PPP, professions such as security guards, drivers, machine operators, and healthcare professionals may lose the right to special retirement or to convert special time into ordinary time, which increases the benefit amount.
The second is the old work card, including those yellow cards for apprentices. Many records made in the 70s, 80s, and 90s do not appear in the INSS system (CNIS).
Without the physical card, these links disappear, and the contribution time becomes shorter, reducing the amount of the retirement.
The third is the contribution receipts from freelancers, common among truck drivers, salespeople, lawyers, and self-employed professionals in the 80s and 90s.
Many of these payments are not listed in the system. Presenting the original receipts can add years of legitimate contributions to the INSS calculation.
Why Doesn’t the INSS Seek These Proofs Itself?
According to Mateus Freitas, the INSS system has historical flaws and is not integrated with old documents.
The agency has no legal obligation to seek evidence for the insured. Therefore, it is up to the citizen to present all the documents, at risk of having their retirement reduced.
This stance reinforces the necessity to keep and digitize old papers. A forgotten document can completely change the final calculation.
Many insured individuals have already managed to review benefits after presenting evidence that had been sitting in drawers for decades.
What Is the Relation to Reviews and the STF?
In the same live session, the lawyer noted that the Federal Supreme Court will analyze the so-called “lifetime review” soon, but stressed that the issue of forgotten documents is independent of that.
The message is clear: those who do not submit the PPP, old work card, and receipts leave money on the table.
This alert applies to both those who already receive retirement and those who will soon apply for it.
Presenting the right proofs can increase, and in some cases even double, the amount of the benefit.
Is It Worth Gathering These Documents?
Yes. Experts explain that retirement can be corrected based on documents that prove time of service and contributions paid.
Review actions can be initiated to include ignored periods. In many cases, the overdue amounts to be received are significant and can change the life of the insured.
Therefore, the recommendation is clear: review old documents before and after applying for retirement. PPP, work cards, and contribution receipts are the three triggers that make a real difference in the calculation.
The lawyer’s statement Mateus Freitas made it clear that the INSS does not seek evidence on its own.
It is up to the citizen to present the forgotten documents that can completely change the benefit. PPP, old work card, and contribution receipts are decisive elements that can increase the retirement amount and prevent irreversible losses.
Have you ever gone through this situation? Do you believe that old documents can really double the retirement amount?
