The Municipal Department of Education of Rio de Janeiro – RJ announced the opening of a new selection process for municipal teachers in 2024, offering a total of 787 positions. With attractive salaries ranging from R$ 3,385.44 to R$ 6,018.55, the examination aims to strengthen the educational staff of the city.

The announcement of the selection process was recently published, stating that applications started on February 5 and will end today, February 8.

The opportunities are aimed at professionals with higher education and are distributed among the 11 Regional Education Coordinations (CRE) of the municipality.

How Will the Positions Offered by the City Hall Be Distributed?

The 787 positions offered by the Municipal Department of Education of Rio de Janeiro-RJ encompass various areas of activity, requiring candidates to have specific training in the desired subject.

The opportunities include working as teachers in Elementary Education — Early Years, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education — Mathematics, and Elementary Education — Arts.

Thus, the candidates’ degree must be compatible with the area of interest, ensuring a selection aligned with the specific needs of each position.

What Is the Salary of Teachers?

The salaries offered range from R$ 3,385.44 to R$ 6,018.55, according to the weekly workload, which can vary from 22 hours and 30 minutes to 40 hours.

How Will the Selection Process Be Conducted?

The selection process opened by the City Hall of Rio will consist of only one stage, which will be the analysis of qualifications, with eliminatory and classificatory characteristics. Points will be assigned according to the following scale:

Postgraduate lato sensu;
Master’s;
Doctorate;
1 to 3 years of experience;
4 to 6 years of experience;
7 to 9 years of experience;
10 years or more of experience.

What Documents Are Required to Apply?

Approved candidates, within the limit of positions, will be called throughout the validity period of the selection process, initially set at 12 months and subject to extension for an equivalent period.

After approval, candidates will have the opportunity to select the school unit of their preference.

To finalize the hiring process, it will be necessary to present the following documents: Identity Card, CPF, Voter’s Registration with proof of electoral regularity, PIS/PASEP registration number, Military Reserve Certificate or Certificate of Exemption from Recruitment for male candidates, proof of naturalization when applicable, proof of residence, and the original occupational health certificate.
