DOZENS of classic cars have been discovered abandoned in an underground mine in Switzerland. Urban explorer Edou Hofstra, 26, was stunned to find a graveyard of vehicles in pristine condition hidden underground.

The cars remained untouched, showing no signs of vandalism, which further enhances the mystery.

According to Edou, the scene was unlike anything he had ever seen. He emphasized that the location is unique because it is not common to find so many cars stored inside an abandoned mine.

Additionally, it was noteworthy that many vehicles still had their keys in the ignition. No one knows how long they have been there or who left them.

“If you don’t know where to look, it can take hours to find the cars,” Edou shared. He even considered that they might have belonged to a collector or maybe a museum, but no definitive answer has emerged so far. Therefore, the mystery remains unsolved.

This was not the first time urban explorers encountered such scenes. Another notable case involved Kyle Urbex, who found a graveyard of cars in Chester.

There, more than 40 abandoned vehicles were present, including luxury cars and even fire trucks. In April, Kyle discovered that the site was hidden behind the house of an elderly couple, overgrown with dense vegetation.

The images of the find showed vintage tractors and JCB machines scattered around the area, giving the space a haunted atmosphere.

Among the vehicles, he found a BMW 635 CSI. Launched in 1978 and known by the nickname “shark nose,” the model was an icon of the brand and still sparks interest.

In June, YouTuber The Bearded Explorer revealed another forgotten treasure: a barn full of classic cars.

The space was dubbed the “Holy Grail” of vehicle graveyards for housing an impressive collection of rare models.

Among them were a Jaguar E-Type, a Volkswagen LT Camper, and even a bespoke Cadillac Fleetwood, considered extremely rare in the UK.

Despite the discoveries, one question remains unanswered. No one knows exactly why these cars were left behind or who their original owners were.
