New Public Competition of IBGE on the Way. So Far, Positions Have Been Confirmed for Candidates with High School and Higher Education in Almost All of Brazil.
The new competition of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) for effective positions has already been authorized. The public competition was announced on the morning of Tuesday (18), by Esther Dweck, Minister of Management and Innovation of Public Services, in a press conference, within a total of 2,480 positions across various agencies.
IBGE Competition for High School and Higher Education Offers 895 Positions
In the case of IBGE, the offer should be for 895 positions across various roles. The public competition had already been announced at the end of June by the economic advisor of the Ministry of Planning, João Villaverde.
The distribution of the positions by respective roles in the IBGE competition for high school and higher education is expected to be confirmed at any moment, with the publication of the authorizing ordinance in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU). In any case, Dweck has already stated that the offer will be for positions of both high school and higher education. The opportunities were allocated with 300 for high school and 595 positions for higher education.

In the case of analysts, the starting salary is R$ 8,488.47 and for researchers, R$ 9,389.06. For technologists, the remuneration is yet to be confirmed.
Understand How the Last IBGE Competition for High School and Higher Education Went
The last IBGE competition for effective positions was held in 2015, when two announcements were released, totaling 600 opportunities. The organizing body at the time was the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). One announcement offered 460 opportunities for the technician career distributed among various states. The other public competition had 90 positions for analyst and 50 for technologist, also with placement in various states.
The need for a new IBGE competition for high school and higher education was emphasized by the president of the entity, Cimar Azeredo. The president states that currently, the entity has 3,940 servers, and almost a thousand of that total may retire at any moment, which could further increase the number of vacancies registered in the agency.
In the official letter, Azeredo highlights that positions will be opened for professionals in various areas such as Statistics, Demographics, Sociologists, Economists, Geographers, and Information Technology and Geoprocessing professionals, among others.
