Youth Energy Summit Launches EnergySkills, Connecting Young People in Brazil to the Energy Sector with Debates, Visits, and Skills Development.

The Youth Energy Summit, known as YES Brazil, introduced the innovative platform called EnergySkills, aimed at creating a strong bridge for young Brazilians aspiring to careers in the energy sector. This event, held in Brasília, provided a unique opportunity for these young people to engage in meaningful discussions, visits to relevant facilities, and in the development of their skills. Through EnergySkills, participants are being prepared to become the future leaders of this essential industry.

In addition to knowledge exchanges, EnergySkills serves as a skills guide that offers a practical and interactive approach to training young people. Participants have access to tools and resources that facilitate learning and the application of concepts in the real context of the energy sector. The commitment of EnergySkills is clear: to empower a new generation of professionals ready to face challenges and innovate in this dynamic field.

Strategic Program of the EnergySkills Event

During the event, a well-defined series of actions was implemented, including visits to crucial institutions, discussions with renowned experts, and the introduction of the e-book EnergySkills. This e-book proves to be an indispensable guide for skills development in the energy sector, establishing itself as a reference for the most required skills. The launch occurred during the 2nd edition of YES Brazil, from November 21 to 23, in Brasília, bringing together a significant audience.

Big Names at YES Brazil

The event featured prominent figures from the energy sector, such as Fernanda Delgado, Márcio Félix, Ziraldo Santos, Eduarda Zoghbi, and Leandro de Oliveira Albuquerque. Representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) were also present. Strongly focused on discussions about public policies, diversity, and energy transition, YES Brazil managed to attract over 100 participants from various parts of the country. Thus, it promoted dialogues about innovative solutions to face the most pressing challenges in the energy sector.

Immersion in Relevant Institutions

During this immersion, the young participants visited important locations such as the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), the National Electric System Operator (ONS), and the National Congress. In each of these visits, dynamic discussions were conducted by experts who answered questions raised by the youth, providing an interactive learning environment.

‘These visits provided a broad learning experience,’ declared Ivan Olegário, an economics student in São Paulo. For him, the interactions not only clarified the technical and regulatory challenges of the sector but also demonstrated where young people can play a crucial role in rethinking the current market and developing innovative solutions.

Connecting Young Professionals to the Market

Initiatives like YES Brazil are essential in connecting young professionals with the reality of the energy market, helping them to align their academic research with the existing regulatory and practical challenges. Pâmela Costa, a geologist and doctoral student at the University of Brasília (UnB), highlighted the importance of this connection for creating innovative solutions that will shape the future of the sector.

The EnergySkills Skills Guide

At the conclusion of the event, EnergyC presented the EnergySkills: Skills Guide, an unparalleled resource that compiles over 200 hours of content developed over four years. Created with the support of 153 specialists from 74 different institutions, this guide identifies core skills such as leadership, innovation, sustainability, and technical competencies. ‘Our mission is to equip young people with the tools necessary to lead transformations in the energy sector,’ emphasized Luiz Miranda, CEO and co-founder of EnergyC.

EnergySkills Available for Free

In a move to democratize access to knowledge, the e-book EnergySkills is available at no cost until December 4, 2024. Interested individuals can download it from the website at any time: [EnergySkills E-book](https://conteudo.energyc.com.br/ebook). Attributes such as market practice are central to this guide, connecting newly acquired theories to real market scenarios, in a true skills guide for future professionals in the energy sector.
