Youth Energy Summit launches EnergySkills, connecting young people in Brazil to the energy sector with debates, visits and skills development.
The Youth Energy Summit, known as YES Brazil, introduced the innovative platform called EnergySkills, designed to create a solid bridge for young Brazilians aspiring to careers in the energy sector. This event, held in Brasilia, provided a unique opportunity for these young people to engage in meaningful discussions, visits to relevant facilities and in the development of your skills. Through EnergySkills, participants are being prepared to become the future leaders of this essential industry.
In addition to knowledge exchanges, EnergySkills acts as a skills guide EnergySkills offers a practical and interactive approach to youth training. Participants have access to tools and resources that facilitate learning and application of concepts in the real context of the energy sector. EnergySkills’ commitment is clear: to train a new generation of professionals ready to face the challenges and innovate in this dynamic field.
Strategic Programming of the EnergySkills Event
During the event, a well-defined series of actions were implemented, including visits to crucial institutions, discussions with renowned experts, and the introduction of the e-book EnergySkills. This e-book is an indispensable guide for the skills development in the energy sector, serving as a reference for the most required skills. The launch took place during the 2nd edition of YES Brazil, between November 21st and 23rd, in Brasília, bringing together a significant audience.

Big Names at YES Brazil
The event was attended by big names in the energy sector, such as Fernanda Delgado, Márcio Félix, Ziraldo Santos, Eduarda Zoghbi and Leandro de Oliveira Albuquerque. Representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) were also present. Strongly focused on debates about public policies, diversity e energy transition, YES Brazil managed to attract more than 100 participants from different parts of the country. Thus, it promoted dialogues about Innovative solutions to address the most pressing challenges in the energy sector.
Immersion in Relevant Institutions
During this immersion, the young participants visited important locations such as the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and the National Congress. During each of these visits, dynamic debates were led by experts who answered the questions raised by the young people, providing an interactive learning environment.
'These visits brought a broad learning experience,' said Ivan Olegário, an economics student in São Paulo. For him, the interactions not only shed light on the technical and regulatory challenges of the sector, but also demonstrated where young people can play a crucial role in rethinking the current market and developing innovative solutions.
Connecting Young Professionals to the Market
Initiatives like YES Brasil are fundamental in connecting young professionals with the reality of the energy market, helping them align their academic research with regulatory challenges and existing practices. Pâmela Costa, geologist and PhD student at the University of Brasília (UnB), highlighted the importance of this connection for the creation of innovative solutions that build the future of the sector.
The EnergySkills Skills Guide
At the closing of the event, EnergyC presented the EnergySkills: Skills Guide, an unparalleled resource that compiles more than 200 hours of content developed over four years. Created with the support of 153 experts from 74 different institutions, this guide identifies fundamental skills such as leadership, innovation, sustainability and technical skills. 'Our mission is to equip young people with the tools they need to lead transformations in the energy sector,' emphasized Luiz Miranda, CEO and co-founder of EnergyC.
