Operating Since December 31, 2025, The Falcons Flight Roller Coaster Leads in Speed, Height, and Length, Repositioning Saudi Arabia in Global Tourism and Marking a Milestone in Entertainment Engineering

The Falcons Flight roller coaster began operations on December 31, 2025, at Six Flags Qiddiya City, near Riyadh, reaching speeds of 250 km/h, a height of 195 meters, and a length of 4.3 kilometers, setting new world records and repositioning Saudi Arabia in the entertainment tourism sector.

The attraction is part of the newly opened Six Flags Qiddiya City, a theme park located about 40 minutes from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The complex was officially opened on the last day of the month.

Set in a desert area, the park is part of Qiddiya City, a fully planned and built destination from scratch around the Tuwaiq Mountains, showcasing natural formations and significant elevation changes.

Records of Speed, Height, and Length

With a maximum speed of 250 km/h, Falcons Flight is currently the fastest continuously operating roller coaster in the world. The full circuit totals 4.3 kilometers in length.

The maximum elevation reaches 195 meters, a mark that also secures the title of the tallest roller coaster on the planet. The combination of height and speed significantly enhances the intensity of the ride.

The course takes advantage of a natural cliff at the theme park, allowing the structure to twist along the slope and incorporate a vertical drop from the existing rocky precipice.

Extreme Drops and Technical Sections

The complete experience lasts just over three minutes, focusing its most intense moments on the section leading up to the cliff with a total height of 195 meters.

At this point, the cart is launched toward the abyss, providing a drop of 160 meters. The vehicle accelerates again to reach 250 km/h during the descent.

After the drop, passengers face the so-called camelback hill, a section of steep ascent and descent, with a peak of approximately 163 meters of maximum height.

To contextualize the dimensions, 195 meters is equivalent to a 60-story building, while the speed of 250 km/h is common in Formula 1 cars.

Safety, Requirements, and Public Experience

According to information from Six Flags Qiddiya City, visitors must be at least 1.30 meters tall to access the attraction. The maximum height allowed is 1.96 meters.

The carts are equipped with windshields positioned at the front of each car, designed to protect visitors from the desert sand and wind impact at high speeds.

The organization released an official video recorded at night from the front row of the cart, highlighting scenic lighting and the integration of the structure with the local terrain.

European Engineering Behind the Attraction

The Falcons Flight was developed by the European company Intamin, a manufacturer known for creating record-breaking attractions around the world.

Some of its most famous projects include the former Kingda Ka, which was once the tallest and fastest in the world, as well as Formula Rossa and VelociCoaster in the United States.

In Brazil, Intamin is responsible for Vurang, a dark roller coaster at Hopi Hari, and the Super Gyro Tower observation tower.

Structure and Investments of the Park

Six Flags Qiddiya City was built through a contract valued at 3.75 billion Saudi riyals, estimated at around R$ 5.4 billion, according to official information.

The park is the first of the brand inaugurated outside North America and features 28 attractions spread across six distinct themed areas.

In total, the areas occupy 320,000 square meters, solidifying the project as one of the largest entertainment complexes ever established in the Middle East.

Beyond the Roller Coaster: Other Attractions with World Records

In addition to Falcons Flight, the park features the Sirocco Tower, the tallest vertical launch tower in the world, standing at 145 meters and reaching speeds of 97 km/h.

Another attraction is the Iron Rattler, the tallest tilt roller coaster in the world, at 63.4 meters, with track that tilts 90 degrees before the drop.

Completing the list are the Spitfire, with the highest inversion in the world, reaching 73 meters and 127 km/h, and the Gyrospin, a 53-meter pendulum.

Tickets for a day visit to the park start at 325 Saudi riyals, approximately R$ 470, according to values released by the complex’s administration.

Qiddiya City and Long-Term Plans

Announced in 2017, Qiddiya City is part of the “Saudi Vision 2030” strategy, aimed at economic diversification and reducing the country’s dependence on oil.

The project envisions an area of over 360 square kilometers, with 20 districts and 12 themed parks planned for different audience profiles.

In addition to Six Flags Qiddiya City, a water park, racing tracks, a Mercedes experience center, and a gaming and e-sports district are planned.

Also included in the plans are golf courses, art centers, and a super-technological stadium for the 2034 World Cup, as well as housing for around 500,000 people.
