Luxury building in Manhattan, a 52-story skyscraper, will have an infinity pool on top, only 26 spacious apartments, and a full city view in an extremely slender and exclusive project
A 262-meter skyscraper in New York is in the final stages of construction and is already impressing with a detail that is uncommon even in high-end developments. The building will have an infinity pool on top, positioned in an open area that further enhances the city view.
In addition to its great height, the building will feature only 26 giant apartments, ensuring exclusivity and plenty of space for each resident. Its extremely slender shape makes the structure appear even taller when viewed from the street.
A slender structure and great height transform the region’s skyline
The 262 Fifth Avenue building has 52 floors and a narrow shape that stands out among other buildings. This type of construction has become more common in areas with limited available space.

The ghost condominium that has been sinking for over 40 years in Rio de Janeiro has partially buried ten-story buildings, once housed thousands of people without infrastructure, and is now associated with structural risk and being a body dumping ground.
The structure combines glass and aluminum and was designed to offer more natural light and better internal use of space. Even without reaching the level of the world’s tallest towers, its 262-meter height already places it among the tallest buildings in the region.
The report was published by Dezeen, an international magazine specializing in architecture and design, which provided updated details about the project.
Infinity pool on top becomes the building’s main attraction
The development’s main highlight is the infinity pool on top, installed in a space with an architectural opening that allows for a wide view of the city. The area will also feature a lounge space for residents.
At night, the lighting on top enhances the building’s modern look, creating a striking effect on the Manhattan skyline. This type of feature is common in luxury projects but still draws attention when in such slender buildings.

Only 26 apartments ensure more space and privacy
The skyscraper building will have only 26 residential units, many occupying an entire floor. Some options also include duplex apartments, offering even more interior space.
This format ensures more comfort, fewer neighbors, and column-free spaces, which improves circulation within the apartments. Each unit will have a wide view of Manhattan, one of the most valued features in this type of property.
Project underwent changes before reaching its current version
The building was announced in 2017 with an even taller proposal. The initial plan was to reach over 300 meters, which would have placed it among the city’s tallest.
Over the years, the project was adjusted and ultimately downsized in 2023. Even so, it maintained its luxury standard and the key differentiators that made it well-known.
Dezeen, an international magazine specializing in architecture and design, also highlighted that the construction faced pauses before reaching its current stage, with units now available for sale.
Construction sparks debate over its impact on the urban landscape
The building’s presence also raises discussions about its impact on the city’s traditional views. One of the points involves the change in the sightline between the Flatiron Building and the Empire State Building.
Despite criticism, the construction has already reached its maximum height and continues to advance to the final stages, such as the installation of the facade and windows.

Slender buildings become a trend in New York
262 Fifth Avenue is part of a trend of extremely slender skyscrapers being built in New York. This model seeks to make better use of small plots with taller constructions.
Other projects in the city follow this same idea, reinforcing a change in the way of building in large urban centers.
The combination of infinity pool on top, few apartments, and great height shows how the luxury real estate market is evolving.
And you, would you have the courage to live in such a tall building with a pool on top and a full view of the city, or would that be too high for your taste?
