Brazilians Film Rare Moment When Tiger Shark Bites Camera; Scene Shows Inside The Jaw And Goes Viral On Social Media
Movie franchises like Jaws and The Meg have helped build a frightening image of these marine predators. Even with reports showing that encounters with sharks are rare and generally peaceful, many people still feel fear just imagining the scene of a fin emerging in the water.
But a group of divers went beyond that. They not only saw the animals up close but also recorded images from inside the mouth of a tiger shark. The footage was captured during a dive off the coast of Freeport, Bahamas, on February 9, and was published on social media.
Expedition Organized By Brazilians
The tour took place in the Tiger Beach area and was organized by the diving school Aloha Divers Okinawa. The company is run by Brazilians Andréa Ramos and Pedro Yan. According to Yan, the camera used for the filming was with Andréa at the time of the recording.

The mission of the dive was to observe tiger sharks, known by the scientific name Galeocerdo cuvier, and feed them with fish bait. The activity was going normally until one of the sharks mistook the camera for food and bit it.
Scene Shows Inside The Animal’s Mouth
The video shows impressive scenes from inside the animal’s mouth. It is possible to see the inner walls, the retractable teeth, and even observe the exterior of the water from the shark’s jaw.
The image went viral on social media, especially because it resembles the popular point of view (POV) on digital platforms, as if the viewer were being swallowed by the animal.

In one of the most striking moments, the divers appear perfectly framed inside the shark’s jaw. After realizing that the camera was not edible, the animal spits the equipment back out. The scene caught the attention of millions of people online.
Pedro Yan reported that this is not the first time this has happened. According to him, on other occasions, sharks have taken divers’ cameras and carried them away. This time, however, the equipment was returned without serious damage.

The success of the video reinforces the interest of many people in learning more about the marine world. The divers’ experience, in addition to producing beautiful images, demonstrated an unusual interaction between humans and sharks at one of the most well-known dive sites in the world.
