Between Alaska and Siberia, there is an abyss on the sea floor, a submarine trench 2,600 meters deep that surpasses the Grand Canyon in vertical scale and hosts one of the rarest ecosystems on the planet.
When fully opened, its thickness of only 3.6 mm makes it the thinnest model among foldables.
The Mate X6 features an external screen of 6.45” and an internal screen of 7.93”, with thickness varying between 9.9 mm when closed and 4.6 mm when opened.
Technical Specifications and Advanced Cameras
Both models share the 50 MP main sensor.
In the Mate XT, the main camera comes with optical stabilization and variable aperture (f/1.2–4.0), accompanied by periscope lenses (12 MP) and ultrawide (12 MP), as well as an 8 MP selfie camera.
The Mate X6 has a triple configuration: 50 MP main, 40 MP ultrawide, and 48 MP telephoto, with an 8 MP selfie camera, receiving praise for performance in low light and digital zoom up to 100×.

Innovative Battery and Fast Charging
The Mate XT features a 5,600 mAh silicon anode battery, which promises greater durability and thermal efficiency compared to the standard lithium-ion.
Charging reaches speeds of up to 66 W wired and 50 W wireless.
The Mate X6 comes with a 5,110 mAh cell, compatible with fast charging and wireless charging.
Absence of Google Apps on Huawei Phones
Due to U.S. sanctions, Huawei does not have a license to include Google apps, such as Play Store, Gmail, and others, on its phones.
The devices come with an open-source version of Android, and users rely on alternative stores to download apps.
This limitation may directly impact the experience of Brazilian consumers, especially those who rely on Google services in their daily lives.
The Context of U.S. Sanctions and Huawei’s Return
The brand has been absent from the national market since 2019, when it was placed on the U.S. blacklist under the Trump administration, which cited national security risks.
This interrupted its system updates and access to Google services.
After six years, the new launches symbolize a bold re-entry, betting on structural innovation.

Global Foldable Phone Market and Rivalry with Apple
Globally, the Mate XT was launched in September 2024 in China, for about 20,000 yuan (approximately R$ 15,400), and then internationally for €3,499 (around R$ 21,500).
The global event in Kuala Lumpur reinforced the message of resilience against sanctions, although analysts point out that the high price, potential durability issues, weakened supply chain, and especially the lack of Google services limit the expansion of the line outside China.
Meanwhile, the foldable segment continues to grow: Huawei dominated 49% of the market in China and 23% globally in 2024, trailing only Samsung (33%).
The expectation is that, with the eventual launch of a foldable iPhone, the sector will gain renewed momentum.
