Onix And Onix Plus 2025 Arrive In The Market With Bold Design And More Efficient Engine To Maintain Chevrolet’s Leadership In The Sector
The Chevrolet Onix and Onix Plus, highly anticipated for 2025, arrive in the market with a bold and innovative proposal, aiming to maintain their leadership in the compact segment, which is one of the most competitive in Brazil, according to the website Quatro Rodas.
The General Motors’ bet on these models goes beyond mere aesthetic updates, the new Onix and Onix Plus bring a complete package of innovations, which include everything from a redesigned look inspired by the beloved Chevrolet Cruze to the introduction of a 1.0 turbo engine with direct injection, ensuring more power and efficiency.
Redesigned Look Inspired By The Chevrolet Cruze
Firstly, the Onix 2025 presents a completely renewed visual. The front design, inspired by the Cruze, features a new hexagonal grille. As a result, the car gains a more aggressive and modern look. This change follows global trends, ensuring a sporty and attractive visual.

Harley-Davidson created an entry-level motorcycle that seems impossible for those who only know the brand’s big bikes: the X440 uses a 440 cc single-cylinder engine, delivers 27 hp, 38 Nm, a declared fuel consumption of 35 km/l, and showcases a small, rational, and much more accessible Harley in India.

GAC Aion UT lands in Brazil for R$ 135,990 as the most affordable electric car in the country with over 200 hp, surpasses BYD Dolphin in size, features a 360 camera, and offers up to 310 km of range to challenge Chinese rivals.

Mitsubishi confirms the triumphant return of a car beloved by Brazilians that was discontinued after almost 40 years, based on the Triton, 4×4, and targets rival Toyota Land Cruiser in a plan of 13 SUVs.

With a twin-cylinder engine of 49.6 hp and a range exceeding 400 km, the new Honda NX500 2027 debuts with a 5” TFT panel, Showa suspension, HSTC torque control, dual-channel ABS, and unlimited mileage warranty.

Moreover, although the headlights maintain their traditional shape, there has been an important update. Now, the LED daytime running lights (DRL) are positioned lower, unlike the previous version, which had them in the bumper. This modification not only provides a more technological aesthetic but also opens up the possibility of including fog lights in the more complete versions.
1.0 Turbo Engine With Direct Injection
Another major novelty in the Onix 2025 lies in the engine. GM introduced the 1.0 turbo engine with direct fuel injection, which represents a significant evolution. Consequently, the car will not only increase its power but also become more efficient.
Currently, the engine offers 116 horsepower and 16.8 kgfm of torque. With the new direct injection system, an improvement in performance is expected, without compromising fuel consumption. Additionally, this update allows the Onix to meet the Proconve L8 requirements, new environmental standards in Brazil.
Hybrid System In The New Onix From Chevrolet
Besides the improvements in the engine, the Onix 2025 may bring a mild-hybrid version. GM has already announced plans to launch hybrid vehicles starting in 2024. Therefore, it is quite likely that the Onix will be included in this strategy.
If this happens, the Onix will be equipped with a 12V mild-hybrid system. This system aims to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, something essential to meet the demands of a market increasingly focused on sustainability.
