With the skill of someone who observes the world through the lenses of his parents, 8-year-old Kevin Kovacs turned his childhood hobby into a promising career by debuting his first watercolor exhibition at an arts center in England.

According to Natalia, his mother, the aptitude for the visual arts emerged quickly: “My husband photographs nature, animals, and landscapes, so Kevin was surrounded by cameras all the time and we loved drawing with him when he was little. We bought all kinds of materials, paints, and watercolors, and I noticed he liked it when he was around 2 years old.”
This experience allowed him to refine his technique on his own. The routine of walks along the English coast, carried out alongside the family, serves as a basis for him to photograph landscapes he finds interesting, using these images as references for his later productions.
Although the art he produces already occupies the walls of a gallery, Kevin Kovacs’ daily life preserves the simplicity of childhood.
Natalia highlights that, when he is not in front of a sheet of paper creating new works, the artist dedicates his time to activities typical of any 8-year-old boy.
Among his favorite games are building structures with blocks and organizing his collection of toy cars.
Recurring Themes and the Artistic Perspective
The maturity with which he chooses his themes surprises those who visit his exhibitions. Among his favorite subjects to reproduce in watercolor, the following stand out:

“I am happy that people can see my paintings hanging on the wall. I hope to have another exhibition one day in London,” said the boy as he shared his desire to grow in the art scene.
