Registered Patent In China Reveals A Micro House On Two Wheels, With Fixed Cabin Transforming A Simple Scooter Into Portable Shelter
It may seem like a science fiction scene, but it’s reality. A new patent registered in China in July 2025 revealed an invention that is at least curious: a scooter with an attached cabin for camping.
The project draws attention for combining transport and housing in a single two-wheeled vehicle. The design resembles a Honda PCX 125 or 150, but with an extra structure at the rear, functioning as a portable shelter.
Unexpected Patent
The patent was registered by a company in the Guangdong region of China. It is not an official creation by Honda, although the design resembles the look of scooters from the Japanese brand.

The Earth’s core is younger than the surface for a reason that seems like fiction, but involves Einstein, gravity, and a 2.5-year difference in the planet’s clock.
The idea is to transform a simple scooter into a micro house, adapted for those who wish to venture out with the minimum possible.
Despite its makeshift appearance, the proposal is clear: to allow the rider to have a resting place embedded in the vehicle itself.
The cabin at the rear is fixed, as if it were an extension of the chassis of the motorcycle. The concept is closer to a compact shelter than to an equipped van.

Space And Limitations
The structure of the motorcycle house seems to serve better as a shelter for a child, a pet, or, in more extreme situations, for an adult willing to curl up inside the cabin.
Space is limited, and ergonomics appear to be a challenge for those who imagined sleeping there with some comfort.
The idea of traveling around with a 125cc engine is already questionable. With the extra weight of the cabin, drivability may become complicated.
The scooter would have only 15 horsepower, which limits its performance. In situations of crosswinds or heavy urban traffic, safety could be an issue.
Camper Trend Goes Far
The emergence of this type of vehicle occurs at a time of high camper culture. In recent years, vans like the VW T3, the Mercedes Sprinter, and even 4×4 off-road versions have gained camping adaptations. Caravans and motorhomes have become a trend in many parts of the world.
Now, the concept of camperization has reached motorcycles. There are already examples of trailers with beds and kitchens attached to larger motorcycles, like the Honda Gold Wing.
But the Chinese proposal goes further: it eliminates the need to tow anything. The structure has been part of the vehicle from the start.

Basic Information Is Missing
Despite the patent registration, there is still no data on essential aspects. It is unknown whether the structure will have anchoring systems, seatbelts, or other required items to ensure the occupant’s integrity. There is also no confirmation regarding the propulsion system — whether it will be combustion or electric.
In the case of an electric version, the autonomy could be a weak point. With extra weight and low power, performance tends to be low.
Everything is still confined to the realm of the patent, with no forecast for mass production or practical testing.
An Eccentric Invention
The Chinese camper scooter is, for now, just an eccentric idea on paper. But history shows that inventions like this can go viral and find their audience. Whether it will succeed or not, only time will tell.
The truth is that the trend of house vehicles shows no signs of slowing down. Micro camperization has now reached motorcycles as well.
