New Aeronautics Contest Will Open Registrations Soon: ITA Offers Hundreds of Vacancies in Various Areas. Learn How to Participate and the Main Requirements.
The announcement of the Aeronautics contest for admission to the engineering undergraduate courses at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) in 2025 was published this Wednesday (29). Located in São José dos Campos, 80 km from the capital of São Paulo, the institution has 180 vacancies open in the public competition, distributed among the active duty officer ranks (40 positions) and the reserve (140).
Requirements for ITA Contest Registration
Individuals of both sexes who are single and meet the requirements can register for the contest at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica. To register, it is necessary to be a native Brazilian, under the terms of Item VI of §3 of Article 12 of the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, not to be over 25 years old by December 2025, and to have completed or be in the process of completing high school in 2024.
If under 18, candidates must have authorization from their legal guardian to register, to take the Written Tests, and to allow the processing of the minor’s personal data, provided by the candidate in the registration form.

Candidates should be aware that, by registering for the public contest, COMAER will collect and process their personal data, whether sensitive or not. Those who do not meet all requirements will have the option to register as a Trainee.
Trainee is a registered candidate who does not meet the conditions established in the announcement and wishes to participate in the ITA contest to assess their knowledge. A trainee who is eventually approved within the number of available vacancies will not be considered qualified for the subsequent phases of the Contest for the purpose of enrollment in the ITA Undergraduate Course and CPOR.

Registrations for the ITA contest will begin on June 3 and end on July 17, and must be done exclusively through the ITA Vestibular website.

Those who are approved for the vacancies will have a 5-year engineering degree, with the first two years dedicated to foundational courses and the last three years for professional training. There are options for specialization in the following areas:

What Will the Public Contest Tests Be Like?
In the first phase, candidates for the ITA contest will take an objective test with 48 multiple-choice questions on mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English. The test will take place in 25 cities:

The second stage will consist of essay tests scheduled for four consecutive days in November: 5, 6, 7, and 8, covering content on mathematics, chemistry, physics, and Portuguese, respectively.
It is worth mentioning that the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) provides students approved in the public contest with meals, access to medical and dental services, and a scholarship in the amount of R$ 1,3 thousand, according to the Armed Forces remuneration table.
After graduation, those opting for the active duty officer ranks will be promoted to first lieutenant and may serve throughout the national territory. The current salary for the position is R$ 8,2 thousand, plus additional benefits.
