The long-awaited Unified National Competition is getting closer to becoming a reality. The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) announced that the organizing committee for this nationally significant event will be chosen in October. Minister Esther Dweck informed that the terms of reference have already been sent to interested committees, which must present their proposals later this month.
Competition Schedule
The schedule proposed by the government establishes the following key dates:
- By October 30: Establishment of the committee responsible for the competition
- By 10/31/2023: Definition of the organizing committee
- By November 22: Hiring of the organizing committee
The government plans to publish the announcement by December 20, 2023, expecting to attract up to 4 million applicants for the Unified National Competition. Those approved are expected to take office starting in August next year.

Vacancies and Thematic Blocks in the Unified National Competition
The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services will provide 6,640 vacancies, distributed across various thematic blocks, namely: Public Administration and Finance; Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development; Education, Science, Technology and Innovation; Social Policies; Justice and Health; Labor and Social Security; Data, Technology and Public Information; Intermediate Level; Economic, Infrastructure and Regulation Sectors.
The goal is to create a structure similar to the National High School Exam (Enem), whose score is recognized by numerous colleges and universities across the country. Candidates will have the opportunity to compete for various vacancies within the same field of activity, prioritizing their order of preference among the vacancies available in the chosen thematic block.
Exams and Evaluation Stages
The exams for the Unified National Competition will be held simultaneously in 180 cities across all regions of Brazil. Candidates will go through two phases of evaluation. The first will consist of objective tests of general and specific knowledge, along with essay tests for certain positions. In the second phase, candidates will be assessed through a title examination, a qualifying stage that will score postgraduate degrees and other titles presented according to the specifications of the announcement.
