DOF, the Oslo-listed offshore vessel operator, has won contracts for two of its anchors (AHTS) in New Zealand and Brazil.
DOF reported on Tuesday that Shell Taranaki has awarded its offshore vessel Skandi Emerald a 60-day contract. The vessel Skandi Emerald is an AHTS built in 2012. The contract will start in January. DOF did not reveal the financial details of the contract, nor the scope of work the vessel will perform for Shell Taranaki.
In a separate statement on Tuesday, DOF said its Brazilian affiliate Norskan Offshore Ltda. won a 1 year contract for anchor Skandi Ipanema with an oil company in Brazil. The contract will start in January. The Skandi Ipanema is an AHTS (STX AH 05) built in 2010.
DOF and Petrobras
Os ROVs are indispensable for operations in the offshore segment in oil extraction activities and there was a certain concern in the market regarding the renewal of the fleet and companies that would get the next batch of contracts for operations of these robots both in the pre-salt and in the post-salt. The good news is that Petrobras ended up signing with DOF and will maintain the current fleet stabilized.
