More than a Racetrack, the Magarigawa Club Mixes a High-End Resort with a Technical Track — Attracting Millionaires and Their Exotic Machines
The Magarigawa Club is not an ordinary circuit. Located in Chiba Prefecture, about an hour from Tokyo, the facility was inaugurated two years ago with a proposal quite different from traditional racetracks.
No professional races or Formula 1 events here. The goal is to provide a safe and private environment for luxury car owners to accelerate at will.
The most important thing is that the club does not target the professional public. About 70% of the members had never set foot on a track before.

More Than a Circuit, a Resort
The track is just the beginning. The club was envisioned by Kenzo Watari, CEO of the Cornes Group, representative of luxury brands in Japan.
The idea was to combine performance and comfort. Therefore, in addition to the circuit, the venue offers a gourmet restaurant, infinity pool, spa with thermal waters, gym, and even karaoke rooms. Families are also accommodated, with a lounge, playground, and pet area.
The complex resembles a resort. There are luxury homes within the property, called villas. Some are for sale for prices ranging from ¥ 200 million to ¥ 800 million — equivalent to R$ 6.5 million and R$ 26 million.
Owners can rent out their villas like hotel suites, charging up to ¥ 200,000 per night.
Luxury Racetrack: High Investment, Slow Return
Construction of the Magarigawa began in 2020, during the pandemic. Despite the risks of the time, such as earthquakes and typhoons, the project proceeded without major delays.
The initial investment reached ¥ 35 billion, or R$ 1.2 billion. However, the club is not yet profitable.
According to the administrators, financial balance will only be achieved in 2048. That is, it will take 25 years to cover the costs of construction and operation.
In the meantime, revenue comes mainly from membership fees and high-end events.
Price for the Few
Becoming a member of the Magarigawa is not cheap. Membership costs ¥ 40 million, about R$ 1.3 million. In addition, there is an annual fee of ¥ 220,000, around R$ 7,300. Still, the number of interested parties continues to grow.
The club relies on exclusivity, a privileged location, and the offering of unique experiences.
The parking lot can accommodate up to 300 vehicles, and the garages are climate-controlled. It is a space made for those who want to escape urban traffic and the strict speed regulations in Japan.
At Magarigawa, members find freedom and sophistication in the same curve.
Expansion Underway
Even without profit, the club continues to invest. New areas are under construction, and expansion plans remain strong.
Major brands like Lamborghini have already held events on-site. These actions help generate visibility and immediate revenue.
Therefore, the Magarigawa Club is more than a racetrack. It represents a new way of experiencing the passion for cars, with comfort, exclusivity, and views of Mount Fuji.
