GE Wins Contract for 11 Petrobras Thermoelectric Plants

The Value Of The Contract Stood At Approximately 1 Billion Reais For Inspections And Maintenance Of Machinery At Petrobras’ Thermoelectric Plants, There May Be Hiring

General Electric (GE) Has Just Signed A Maintenance Contract With Petrobras Estimated At Approximately 300 Million Reais To Provide Machines And Maintenance Services For The State Company’s Thermoelectric Plants For A Period Of 4 Years, This Was The Company’s Official Statement Today (16) In Major Media Outlets. Altogether, GE Managed To Take Over Eleven Plants That Together Sum An Installed Power Of About 4.3 Gigawatts, Approaching The Capacity Of 80% Of All That Petrobras Is Able To Generate. GE Highlights That This Is The Broadest Deal For This Type Of Service That The Company Has Ever Secured In Latin America, In Terms Of Power Generation.

The Activities Provided In The Contract Include Inspection Services, Repairs, And Supply Of Apparatus For 20 Gas Turbines, Also Including Twenty-Three Aero-Derived, Steam-Powered Equipment, And 13 Generators For All Involved Ventures, Which Have Been Operational Since 2001. “This Project Highlights How We Could Design The Best Service Solutions Especially To Allow Petrobras A Cut Of Up To 25 Percent In Operational And Maintenance Costs, In Addition To Providing Support For The Next Four Years,” Said GE Power Service CEO, Scott Strazik, In A Statement.
