Top-of-the-line Hatchback Version Receives Exclusive Visual, New Color, and Complete Package of Technology and Safety, Maintaining the Already Known Mechanical Set and Price Above R$ 150 Thousand.

Honda introduced the new configuration of the City Hatch with a sporty visual appeal and a price of R$ 152,800, maintaining the already known mechanical set.

Named Hatchback Touring Sport, it arrives at dealerships at the end of August and follows the recipe of the “sporty” versions: changes concentrated in design, without alterations to the 1.5 engine producing 126 hp or the CVT transmission with Step Shift.

The Honda Sensing safety package comes standard, as does the equipment list from the City Touring.

What Changes in the Visual of the Honda City Sport 2026

The body of the Honda City Sport 2026 will be sold exclusively in Supernova Red.

The roof, shark fin antenna, side mirrors, and rear spoiler receive a glossy black finish to enhance contrast.

The wheels gain a darkened paint finish, and the chrome exhaust tip becomes the final detail on the bumper.

Inside, the metal footrests give a sporty touch.

The seats retain the design and materials of the Touring version, focusing on comfort and durability.

No changes in dimensions, wheelbase, or trunk capacity have been reported by the brand for this configuration.

Standard Items and Safety of the City Touring Sport

The Honda City Touring Sport 2026 inherits the equipment list from the Touring version.

Highlights include electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, induction charger, and multimedia center with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There are four USB ports — two in the front and two in the rear —, dual-zone digital air conditioning, and rain sensor.

The instrument panel is 7 inches digital and the hatch features LaneWatch, a camera system that expands the right-side field of vision to assist in lane changes.

In terms of active safety, Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure mitigation, and automatic high beams.

Passive protection includes six airbags and disc brakes on all four wheels.

1.5 Engine Producing 126 hp and CVT Step Shift Transmission

Under the hood, the Honda City Sport 2026 retains the 1.5 naturally aspirated four-cylinder with direct injection, generating 126 hp and 15.8 kgfm of torque.

The CVT continues coupled to paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

The Step Shift function simulates gear shifts during stronger acceleration to provide a driving feel closer to that of a traditional automatic, without sacrificing the typical efficiency of CVTs.

This combination prioritizes smoothness and fuel consumption, aligning with the City’s positioning.

No announcements of changes to suspension, steering, or brakes have been made besides what is already present in the Touring configuration.

The Honda City Touring Sport 2026 thus focuses on visuals and the equipment list, not on performance gains.

Price and Availability

The Hatchback Touring Sport version of the City will arrive at the end of August, according to the brand.

The launch price is R$ 152,800.

The aim is to add an aesthetically appealing option for those already targeting the complete package of the top version, without changing the mechanics or the safety set.

For those seeking direct factory differentiation, the exclusivity of the Supernova Red color is the main attraction.

Another point is the glossy black finish on the roof elements and side mirrors, a feature that has become a trend in compact models.

The Honda City Sport 2026 fits precisely in this range, delivering a more striking visual without changing the essence of the car.

Technology and Convenience

Besides wireless mirroring, the multimedia center includes standard audio, phone, and navigation functions via apps.

The Honda City Touring Sport 2026 maintains induction charging, useful for reducing loose cables in the console.

The Auto Hold feature immobilizes the vehicle at red lights, releasing the brake pedal, and the electronic parking brake replaces the traditional lever with a control in the console.

The 7” digital panel allows the display of driving information and assists the Honda Sensing systems with visual alerts.

The set of four USB ports meets the typical charging queues of family usage, with outlets also for rear seat passengers.

The rain sensor automates the activation of the wipers and contributes to safe driving on unstable days.

History: The City Has Had a Sport Version

This is not the first appearance of the Sport surname on the City.

In 2014, when the model was sold only as a sedan, Honda offered the City Sport based on the DX version.

The proposal was also aesthetic: black grille, headlights with darkened mask, smoked taillights, fog lights, chrome tip, and the “Sport” emblem on the trunk lid.

The door handles and side mirrors were painted in the body color, and the red Rally was available, then associated with the Civic Si of that time.

The 15” steel wheels gave way to a 16” alloy set inherited from the EX version.

Inside, aluminum footrests and exclusive fabric seats were part of the package.

The item list was simpler than the current one: electric steering with height and depth adjustment, air conditioning, electric trio, and CD player radio.

In mechanics, the family maintained the 1.5 flex producing 116 hp with either a manual or five-speed automatic transmission.

The historical rescue helps to understand the strategy behind the Honda City Touring Sport 2026: reinforcing personality without altering the technical package.

Where the Touring Sport Version is Positioned

In the City Hatch lineup, the Touring Sport acts as the top-of-the-line version with an exclusive visual.

The mechanical delivery is identical to the Touring, as are the assistance systems.

The practical difference is concentrated in the external identity and in small touches inside, like the metal footrests.

For the consumer who wants everything standard and a more striking factory visual, the Honda City Sport 2026 serves this role.

Those who prioritize only equipment can continue with the traditional Touring, while the Touring Sport offers color exclusivity and black finishes.

Currently, there is no publicly available information about specific optional packages for this configuration beyond what has been reported here.
