Huawei Surprises The Automotive Market By Revealing The Stelato S9, A Luxury Sedan Equipped With The Brand’s Complete Technology, High Autonomy, And A Significantly Lower Price Than European Rivals, Including The Tesla Model 3
Huawei presents a model that reinforces its strategy in the automotive sector alongside Chinese partners. The highlight is the Stelato S9, a luxury sedan developed by the Stelato brand with complete technology from Huawei, which arrives in an updated version to compete with global benchmarks like the Tesla Model S.
The announcement also draws attention for an initial price lower than the Model 3 in Europe.
Strategic Partnership And Focus On Technology
Huawei’s proposal differs from Xiaomi’s approach. While the rival manufactures its own cars, Huawei bets on agreements with local automakers to provide multimedia systems, engines, and digital platforms. Among its partners, Stelato stands out for the full adoption of the company’s ecosystem.

The S9 is the main example of this integration. The model features smart headlights with 1 million pixels, electrically operated doors, and digital rearview mirrors. Inside, there are specific screens for front and rear occupants, as well as rear seats with zero-gravity technology.
Advanced Driver Assistance System
The HarmonyOS operating system centralizes the control of all vehicle equipment. The driver assistance package includes 36 sensors and a LiDAR radar, demonstrating the intent to compete in the premium segment of electrified sedans.
The dimensions reinforce this positioning. With a length of 5.16 meters and a wheelbase of 3.05 meters, the S9 fits into the executive sedan category in markets like Europe.
EV And EREV Versions Focused On Autonomy
Stelato offers the S9 in two powertrain configurations, both based on an 800-volt platform. The fully electric variant features Huawei motors delivering 304 horsepower and uses a 100 kWh battery. According to the CLTC cycle, the range reaches 816 kilometers, with a charge from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes.
The option with range extender provides even more impressive numbers. The system includes a 1.5-liter turbo engine acting as a generator, combined with 37 or 53.4 kWh batteries. The result is a total range of 1,378 kilometers with a full tank and battery.
Reception And Price In The Chinese Market
The launch of the S9T, a variant of the line, recorded over 10,000 reservations in the first hour of sales, highlighting strong demand. There has yet to be an official positioning from Huawei or Stelato regarding the EREV version, which promises to attract a broader audience.
