Get ready, because Hyundai is coming with a mini-Creta! The Korean automaker, known for its successful launches, is already gearing up to launch Hyundai's new affordable SUV in 2025. This model promises to cause a turnaround in the compact SUV segment, especially in the entry-level range. The idea is to go head-to-head with rivals like the Fiat Pulse and Renault Kiger, offering a more affordable price and that characteristic touch of Hyundai innovation.

Designed to fill the gap between the HB20 and the Creta, Hyundai's new budget SUV will be based on the HB20 platform, a formula that has already worked for the Fiat Pulse. With a design inspired by the Creta, but reduced to compete in the compact SUV segment, the mini-Creta is here to provide an option for those who were left without a car after the discontinuation of the Creta Action, previously the most affordable model in the line. The new model is estimated to cost between R$100.000 and R$125.000, ensuring an attractive cost-benefit ratio.

Robust and compact design of Hyundai's new budget SUV

In terms of appearance, the new SUV promises a robust and imposing design, despite its reduced dimensions. This mini-Creta should be about 15 cm smaller than the Creta, but larger than the HB20, making it perfect for those looking for urban practicality without giving up the striking presence of an SUV. The front will be marked by two-level lighting, with thin position lights above the main ones, a design pattern already popular in Hyundai SUVs.

On the side, the square profile with prominent fenders and black plastic details reinforce the off-road aspect and the feeling of height from the ground. At the rear, angular lights connected by an aesthetic bar reflect the modern style of the brand's latest launches, completing the imposing look. The model should feature wheels up to 16 inches, complementing the sporty appearance.

Interior and comfort

The interior of Hyundai's new budget SUV will be based on a practical and functional design, aiming for low cost and durability. The expectation is that the dashboard, similar to that of the HB20, will be simple, with plenty of hard plastic, but without giving up a technological touch: in the more advanced versions, the car may feature a fully digital dashboard and a floating multimedia center.

As for space, a comfortable cabin for up to five people is expected, with a trunk of around 300 liters. Ideal for urban consumers who need versatility in their daily lives.

equipment and technology

Hyundai should be very careful with the standard items, aiming at safety and comfort: six airbags, adjustable steering column, electric steering, multifunction steering wheel, hill start assist, rear parking sensors and post-collision braking system are expected.

Although the model falls into the entry-level SUV range, the promise is to offer technology and practicality that make the mini-Crete shine among its competitors.

Motorization: efficiency with performance

Under the hood, the mini-Creta is expected to feature the 1.0 Turbo engine from the HB20, with 120 horsepower, ensuring a good response for both urban traffic and highways. For comparison purposes, this engine allows the HB20 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 10 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h. In addition, its consumption is quite competitive, offering averages of up to 13,9 km/l on the highway (with gasoline).

Competition with Fiat Pulse and Renault Kiger and price

In addition to seeking out the Fiat Pulse and Renault Kiger, Hyundai's new budget SUV enters a segment that is about to receive more competition, such as Volkswagen's compact SUV and the upcoming Chevrolet SUV. This niche of budget compact SUVs has been attracting more and more consumers, with sales of around 100.000 units in 2023, led by the VW T-Cross.

With prices starting at around R$100.000, the mini-Creta presents itself as an attractive option for those who want a functional and affordable SUV, especially considering that the conventional Creta, in its cheapest version, already costs more than R$142.000.

Hyundai's new budget SUV arrives to shake up the market in 2025. With a competitive price, compact and robust design and enough technology to win over the public, the mini-Creta could be the brand's next success in Brazil. So, are you waiting for an SUV like this?
