Girl Makes A Surprising Discovery At Archaeological Site In Israel While “Unearthing” An Artifact Over 3,000 Years Old!

A girl of just three years made an extraordinary discovery during a family outing at the archaeological site of Tel Azekah, in southern Israel, according to Ultimo Segundo. The find, which occurred in early March, revealed a 3,800-year-old artifact, a sacred scarab from the Canaanite culture!

A Small Object, A Great Mystery!

Ziv Nitzan was walking among the stones when he noticed something unusual. When he cleared the sand, he realized it was a peculiar object and handed it to the Israel Antiquities Authority. The piece was quickly identified as an ancient Egyptian scarab, a symbol of renewal and divinity used as a seal and sacred amulet.

The artifact dates back to the Middle Bronze Age (2100-1600 BC), a time when the Canaanite culture flourished in the Levant region, now part of Israel, Syria, and Lebanon.

Historical Importance Of The Artifact Discovery

Tel Azekah is an archaeological mound of great historical importance, formed by layers of overlapping settlements over the centuries. With strong biblical relevance, the site has already revealed remnants of the Kingdom of Judah, including walls and agricultural structures dating from the Iron Age.

The scarab discovered by Ziv will be presented to the public during Passover in April, in a special exhibition organized by the Israel Antiquities Authority, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to appreciate this fascinating find.
