The Kawasaki KLX 300R was officially presented by the Japanese brand in Brazil on Tuesday, September 17, and promises to expand the options for off-road motorcycles in the country. With a robust package that includes long-travel suspensions and a 292cc liquid-cooled engine capable of generating 29 horsepower, the new KLX 300R is aimed at off-road enthusiasts seeking high performance and versatility. Kawasaki is betting on this launch to strengthen its presence in the Brazilian market, catering to the growing demand for motorcycles better suited for tough terrains.
How Much Does the New Kawasaki KLX 300R Cost?
The price of the new Kawasaki motorcycle is R$ 37,990, excluding shipping. Although it shares much of the same base as the KLX 300, its street version, the Kawasaki KLX 300R is not homologated for the streets; thus, its circulation is restricted to off-road or private environments.
The Japanese model is equipped with a 292 cc DOHC single-cylinder engine that can deliver up to 29 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and 2.7 kgfm of torque at 7,000 RPM. With liquid cooling, this engine of the new Kawasaki motorcycle features two radiators for cooling. The DFI electronic fuel injection system uses a Keihin throttle body with a 34 mm venturi.

The transmission, on the other hand, is a 6-speed. Regarding the final drive, the Kawasaki KLX 300R uses a chain with a 520 pitch, while the sprocket and piston have 50 and 14 teeth, respectively. Its exhaust is made of stainless steel.
The motorcycle comes with an inverted front suspension with 43 mm diameter tubes and a long travel of 285 mm. This fork allows for compression adjustment in 18 positions. At the rear, the new Kawasaki motorcycle features amonoshock working in conjunction with its aluminum swingarm.
New Kawasaki KLX 300R is Equipped with Disc Brakes to Enhance Safety
With a stroke of 285 mm as well, the system allows for adjustments in spring preload and compression, as well as rebound. Its wheels are spoked, measuring 21 inches in the front and 17 inches in the rear. The rims are anodized aluminum in black from the D.I.D. brand.
The tires of the new Kawasaki motorcycle are 80/100-21 M/C 51 M MST and 100/100-18 M/C 59M NHS, respectively. Regarding the brakes, the motorcycle is equipped with a daisy-shaped disc, measuring 270 mm in the front, including a dual-piston caliper, as well as a 240 mm disc in the rear with a single piston.
Kawasaki KLX 300R Will Compete with Honda CRF 250F and Yamaha TT-R 230
The new Kawasaki motorcycle has a wet weight of just 128 kg, and its tank can hold 7.9 liters of gasoline. At 2,120 mm in length and 1,435 mm in wheelbase, the model has a seat height of 900 mm, while the minimum ground clearance is 300 mm. The handlebars feature a system called Ergo Fit, allowing the rider up to 4 position adjustments.
The launch from the Japanese brand is available only in a single version with one color: gray (Battle Gray). It is expected to hit stores starting from the second half of September. In terms of competitors, the KLX 300R does not have exactly direct competitors.
According to what has been disclosed by the company itself, the aim is to be a more complete alternative to models like the Honda CRF 250F, which is priced at R$ 22,280 and Yamaha TT-R 230, priced at R$ 19,490.
