Lactalis Announces Significant Support to Strengthen Production and Expand Operations in the Leading Milk Production State in Brazil

The Lactalis Group, world leader in the dairy market, confirmed a new investment of R$ 250 million in Minas Gerais, reinforcing its commitment to the economic development and productive chain of the state. The amount will be allocated to the modernization and expansion of the company’s seven industrial units in Minas, further strengthening the state’s status as the largest milk producer in the country, according to the website Itatiaia.

Minas Gerais: A Strategic Hub for the Dairy Sector

Governor Romeu Zema highlighted the importance of this investment in dairy for the local economy, emphasizing how Lactalis’ expansion will contribute to the development of the milk production chain. With this new scale, private investments attracted in Minas Gerais since 2019 approach the mark of R$ 1 trillion.

Minas has already established itself as a national leader in milk production, and this expansion will allow for the modernization of the factories and strengthening of the partnership between Lactalis and local producers. According to the Secretary of Economic Development, Fernando Passalio, the state has adopted a personalized approach to attract and finalize private investments.

Impact on the Productive Chain and Job Creation

Lactalis already has a solid presence in Minas Gerais, with factories in municipalities such as Uberlândia, Sete Lagoas, and Sabará, in addition to logistics units in Contagem and an administrative sector in Belo Horizonte. Currently, the group generates 3,654 direct jobs in the state, a number that is expected to increase with the new investments planned until 2026.

The CEO of Lactalis in Brazil, Roosevelt Junior, emphasized the relevance of Minas for the group’s operations. The state hosts the company’s 23 factories in the country, representing 30% of the company’s total employees in Brazil.

Sustainable Investments and Vision for the Future

Lactalis has already invested R$ 736 million in Minas since 2020, always with the support of the State Government through the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sede-MG) and Invest Minas. This new investment from the dairy company reaffirms the company’s strategic vision of growth in partnership with local producers and the government, generating economic and social value for the region.

With a robust plan for expansion and modernization, the dairy company Lactalis not only boosts the economy of Minas Gerais but also strengthens Brazil’s position as a global reference in the dairy market.
