Lactalis announces significant support to strengthen production and expand operations in Brazil’s leading dairy state
The Lactalis Group, world leader in the dairy market, confirmed a new investment of R$ 250 million in Minas Gerais, reinforcing its commitment to economic development and the state's production chain. The value will be intended for the modernization and expansion of the seven industrial units of the company in Minas, further strengthening the state's status as largest milk producer in the country, according to the Itatiaia website.
Minas Gerais: A strategic hub for the dairy sector
Governor Romeu Zema highlighted the importance of this investment in dairy products for the local economy, highlighting how the expansion of Lactalis will contribute to the development of the milk production chain. With this new size, private investments attracted in Minas Gerais since 2019 approach the R$1 trillion mark.
Minas has already consolidated itself as a national leader in milk production, and this expansion will allow modernization of factories and strengthening of the partnership between Lactalis and local producers. According to the Secretary of Economic Development, Fernando Passalio, the state has adopted a personalized approach to attract and realize private investments.

Impact on the production chain and job creation
Lactalis already has a solid presence in Minas Gerais, with ffactories in cities such as Uberlândia, Seven Lagoons and Sabara, in addition to logistics units in Contagem and an administrative sector in Belo Horizonte. Currently, the group generates 3.654 direct jobs in the state, a number that should increase with the new investments planned until 2026.
Lactalis CEO in Brazil, Roosevelt Junior, emphasized the relevance of Minas for the group's operations. The state housed the company's 23 factories in the country, representing 30% of the company's total employees in Brazil.

Lactalis already invested R$ 736 million in Minas since 2020, always with the support of the State Government through the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sede-MG) and Invest Minas. This new contribution from the dairy company reaffirms the company's strategic vision to grow em partnership with local producers and the government, generating economic and social value for the region.
