After Finalizing Project in Sergipe, LOCAR PIPE Barge Returns to Rio de Janeiro for Launch of Submarine Pipelines of Route 3, Connecting Comperj to Pre-Salt
The Comperj venture is proceeding strong and on track with Petrobras’s business plan projections until 2022. Several companies are part of this venture; we will publish next week the updated list of all those within the contract for free. But today’s article is about Locar, which has just recently completed its offshore project at the Thermoelectric Plant in Sergipe and returns to Rio de Janeiro to execute the Route 3 contract.
Our team confirmed with the operations manager, and she is already in Rio to launch the submarine pipelines for the McDermott company, which won the Petrobras bid for the Construction of Route 3 Gas Pipeline, connecting Comperj to the pre-salt.
The barge executing this contract is the Locar Pipe, measuring 87.5 meters in length, 30 meters in width, and 6 meters in depth; it is also the first pipe-launching barge in shallow waters entirely built in Brazilian territory, costing the company 140 million reais.
