Ferrari’s Studio Has Set Aside Cars for a While and Is Now Working on an Electric Motorcycle Inspired by 1930s Design. The Model Features a Range of 100 km and a Price of CB 1000.
As a giant in the design world, the Pininfarina surname is well known in the car segment, whether for the creations of its founders alongside Ferrari with the F40, Dino, and Testarossa models, or for other brands. From the Italian studio that shares the same name, models like the Jaguar XJ-S, Mitsubishi Pajero, Peugeot 306 CC, and Fiat Coupé also emerged. However, now the legendary design house seeks to bring its magic to the world of electric motorcycles.
Electric Motorcycle Features a Range of 100 km and a Price of CB 1000
The Italian studio that developed Ferrari models dedicated itself to the traits of the PF40 electric motorcycle, a model inspired by 1930s design. This vehicle, featuring a retro-futuristic design, is developed by the Dutch company Eysing.
In its entirety, the electric motorcycle with a price of CB 1000 features a rounded headlight and an analog speedometer. Details that could not be excluded from a vehicle that appeals to the best vintage style.

The design of the PF40 itself is very minimalist. In terms of performance, the vehicle features a motor mounted in the rear wheel hub, with a nominal power of 1.5 kW, equivalent to 2 horsepower, with two versions available, where one has a maximum speed of 25 km/h and the other 50 km/h.
The battery has a range of up to 100 km and can be fully charged in just 8 hours, or, if a fast charger is used, in up to 4 hours. The suspension features spring forks, in an “old school” style, while the rear is completely rigid.
Model Costs Over R$ 77 Thousand
Like vehicles of the past, the braking system features mechanical drum brakes on both the rear and front. However, the wheels of the electric motorcycle possess the modernity of lightweight alloys but are fitted with old-fashioned patterned tires.
In running order, ready for circulation, the electric motorcycle, created by the studio responsible for Ferrari models, weighs only 60 kg. Pre-orders for the Eysing PF40 are already open, with a reservation fee of 1000 euros.
However, the total price of the vehicle is 13,780 euros, equivalent to over R$ 77 thousand in direct conversion, meaning the new electric motorcycle costs more than a Honda CB 1000 R over there. In Europe, Honda’s naked bike is sold for 13,590 euros. In Brazil, this vehicle with Neo Sports Café style, which also combines classic lines with a minimalist design, starts at R$ 76,570.
Caloi’s Mobylette Also Gets an Electric Version
With a vision focused on sustainability, Caloi also announced last year the return of its Mobylette, but this time with an electric motor that can deliver a range of up to 30 km on a single charge.
For now, the vehicle, inspired by the 1980s model, is being sold through the company’s page on Mercado Livre. As for the price, the company is selling the electric Mobylette for just R$ 9,199.
The moped still features a classic style, bringing a brushless hub motor with a power of 350W. The model can be driven either by the classic pedaling or by a throttle integrated into the display. The model comes with a removable 36V and 10.4 Ah lithium-ion battery.
