Gaúcha Company Bets on Totally National Production of Electric Motorcycles, Launches Limited Edition Sold Out in Minutes and Projects to Reach Million-Dollar Revenue in a Sector Dominated by Japanese Manufacturers.
A Auper, gaúcha technology and electric mobility company, will inaugurate in September its first factory in Joinville (SC), within the Perini Business Park.
The plan includes R$ 500 million in investments by 2027 and the initial production of the 600 CE Founder Edition, a limited series of 100 units already reserved, according to Revista Exame.
The official inauguration date will be announced in the coming days.

Factory in Joinville and the Choice of Santa Catarina
According to management, Santa Catarina was chosen for having a solid industrial ecosystem, with a focus on the automotive chain, as well as infrastructure, universities with reference laboratories, and tax incentives.
The new unit is focused on vertical integration and promises a competitive edge: offering a product with 100% national content, in a market where assembly usually occurs in the Manaus Free Zone with imported components.
“One of the company’s great strategic differentiators will be the offer of a 100% national product,” says Silvio Rotilli Filho, CEO and co-founder.

Models, Performance, and Prices of Auper 600 CE
The first batch produced in the new line will be the 600 CE Founder Edition, a series that had reservations sold out in less than 8 minutes after the opening, at midnight on April 1, 2025, on the brand’s website, reports the executive.
This version is the fastest and most powerful in the range: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 s, reaches 170 km/h, delivers 68 hp (50 kW) and torque of 200 Nm at the motor, with 1,000 Nm at the wheel.
It also features a color inspired by the Brazilian dunes.
The 600 CE line will have three configurations.
In addition to the Founder Edition, the brand is preparing the Base Model and the Extended Battery.
The pricing policy foresees R$ 49.9 thousand for the Founder Edition, R$ 25.9 thousand for the Base Model, and R$ 34.9 thousand for the Extended Battery, according to Revista Exame.
The last two will reach consumers starting in 2026.
Scaled Production and Growth Goals
The strategy will be executed in phases. In 2025, the priority is to validate the product in real use with the manufacture and delivery of the 100 units of the Founder Edition.
Production at scale begins in 2026 and the projected installed capacity is up to 1,500 motorcycles per month by 2027, when the company estimates it will achieve R$ 450 million in annual revenue and around 200 direct jobs in the Santa Catarina operation.
Motorcycle Market and Space for Electric Motorcycles
The declared goal is to compete in a segment dominated by giants like Honda and Yamaha. The moment is one of heated demand for motorcycles in general.
Between January and May 2025, the country registered 849,946 units, according to sector data, with a nearly 11% increase compared to the previous year.
The electric motorcycles still have a small share, but are growing: 4,803 units were registered in the first five months of 2025, about 0.5% of the total in the period, with a significant increase compared to 2024.
In industry reports, the share of electric motorcycles remained below 1% in recent years, fluctuating and showing recovery in early 2025.
Nationalization and Impacts on Production
By betting on local content, Auper seeks to reduce dependence on global chains, shorten logistics timelines, and facilitate assistance and parts replacement.
The company argues that this path improves costs throughout the lifecycle and provides predictability for expansion.
“It was something spectacular,” said Rotilli about the speed of reservations, arguing that the appeal of a national product can accelerate the adoption of electric two-wheelers.
Technology and Security Software
Founded in 2020 by Silvio Rotilli Filho, Alan Dorneles Callegaro, and David Ofori-Amoah, Auper invested in an embedded software package to enhance security and reduce maintenance costs.
The platform monitors the status of components and enables predictive maintenance, as well as real-time tracking.
In case of theft, the system allows remote locking and blocking of critical motorcycle items, a feature that the company considers one of the project’s differentiators.
In the CEO’s view, the development of an electric motorcycle “cannot follow the same logic as combustion motorcycles,” as it requires a unique architecture for powertrains, batteries, electronics, and digital integration.
Timeline and Upcoming Launches
The inaugural phase focuses on the Founder Edition.
With the end of reservations and the line about to start operations, the company will work on certifications, production adjustments, and forming a service network.
Scaled production in 2026 should open space for the other models in the 600 CE family, focusing on entry price and extended range.
The goal of 1,500 units/month in 2027, combined with the nationalization strategy, is the central axis of the financial plan aiming for R$ 450 million in revenue in the same year.
Competitive Environment and Adoption of Electric Motorcycles
Despite the predominance of traditional brands, the Brazilian two-wheeler market has shown appetite for novelties in recent years, driven by usage costs, urban delivery, and the quest for more efficient mobility.
Electric motorcycles still represent a minority fraction of the total but have been recording double-digit growth in recent annual bases, in line with increased supply and greater visibility of the topic in major centers.
In this landscape, a national product, with prices ranging from R$ 25.9 thousand to R$ 49.9 thousand, seeks to reduce entry barriers, especially in after-sales, according to Revista Exame.
Santa Catarina as an Industrial Hub
The decision to establish the factory in Joinville connects Auper to a hub with consolidated industrial chains and a qualified workforce, in addition to accelerating partnerships with research centers.
The Perini Business Park, where the unit will be located, is regarded as the largest mult sector business park in South America, facilitating access to suppliers and critical services for a nascent operation.
What to Watch in the Coming Months
In the coming months, attention will turn to the delivery of the 100 units of the inaugural series, to the ramp-up of production, and to the evolution of the total cost of ownership compared to combustion competitors.
Another point will be the service network and the availability of parts, decisive factors for consumer confidence.
Finally, the trajectory of electric registrations in the country will serve as a thermometer to measure the project’s potential for scaling.
With performance of 0–100 km/h in under 4 s, prices starting at R$ 25.9 thousand, and the promise of 100% national content, will Auper have the breath to break the hegemony of Honda and Yamaha on Brazilian streets?

Com esse preço acho difícil competir com motocicleta existente.
