Job Da Gente in the Neighborhoods Brings 1,800 Job Vacancies and Changes Lives of Residents in Retiro
More than 1,800 job vacancies were offered this Tuesday (28) during the new edition of the Job Da Gente in the Neighborhoods program, held in the Retiro neighborhood in Jundiaí (SP).
In addition, the initiative, organized by the Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development, Science and Technology (SMDECT), turned the area into a true center of opportunities and professional qualification, attracting hundreds of candidates in search of reemployment or their first job.
Thus, with the participation of 23 companies and the mobilization of around 400 people throughout the day, the event reinforced that the program has been consolidating as one of the main initiatives to promote work and income generation in Brazil.

Program Connects Candidates and Companies from the Same Neighborhood
According to Cida Gibrail, Director of Trade and Services at SMDECT, the main goal is to bring residents closer to the available job vacancies in their own region.
“It’s an opportunity for both job seekers and companies that need labor. Our focus is to make this connection, bringing job vacancies from nearby companies to the neighborhood, which also improves mobility and quality of life for workers,” she highlighted.
This strategy values local development and reduces professionals’ commutes, strengthening neighborhood commerce and businesses. Furthermore, the program has been encouraging the creation of new job opportunities in various sectors, such as logistics, services, and trade.
Community Partnerships Boost Opportunities
The success of the edition in Retiro was also due to the unity of the community.
“Word of mouth was essential. We had support from councilman Daniel Lemos, from the parish, from schools, from the UBS, and from the CRAS. The entire community helped spread the word,” Cida Gibrail added.
The strong popular participation shows how the initiative is becoming part of the routine for those seeking to improve their professional qualification and find job vacancies close to home.
Companies Offer Opportunities and Benefits
Among the highlights, Refrio Armazéns Gerais brought more than 100 vacancies in logistics. For Rafaela Zompero, recruitment analyst at the company, the job fair brings the market closer to those who need it most.
“Not everyone can travel to the company, so we come to them. It’s a way to help the population re-enter the market and present our sectors and benefits,” she explained.
The opportunities include positions such as logistics assistant, with bonuses and targets that can raise salaries, stimulating professional growth and productivity.
Stories That Inspire: From First Job to New Chance
The job fair attracted candidates of all ages and profiles, thus demonstrating the strength of the program. Arthur Bueno de Oliveira, 61, praised the practical and accessible format:
“I thought this action from the City Hall was great. In one place, I can talk to several companies. The service is excellent and makes the process much easier. What would take 15 days to do, I resolved here in one morning.”
On the other hand, student Cauê Gavioli, 17, was looking for his first opportunity:
“I want to start gaining experience in the job market. I learned about it through my grandmother, who participates in the parish here in the neighborhood, and I decided to come look for a job.”
Thus, these accounts demonstrate how the Job Da Gente in the Neighborhoods directly impacts participants’ lives, both through the speed of the process and the encouragement of professional qualification.
Upcoming Editions Should Expand Reach in Brazil
The success of the action in Jundiaí has drawn the attention of other cities, which are now showing interest in replicating the model.
In addition, the program, which has already visited various neighborhoods, continues to attract new companies willing to participate in upcoming editions.
Thus, with each stage, the Job Da Gente in the Neighborhoods reinforces its role as an instrument of social and economic inclusion, connecting companies and workers and, therefore, boosting job vacancies and opportunities for professional growth throughout Brazil.
