National Unified Public Competition Promises Inclusion, Diversity, and New Careers, Scheduled for 2025

In an interview on the program “Good Morning, Minister” broadcast by EBC, Minister of Management, Esther Dweck, confirmed the intention to hold a second edition of the National Unified Public Competition (CPNU) in 2025. Celebrating the success of the first edition, the minister highlighted that the CPNU is an innovative model aimed at democratizing access to public service, promoting diversity in the Public Administration.

Planning and Calendar of the CPNU 2025

The planning anticipates the release of the public notice at the end of the first quarter, with the tests scheduled for the second semester, preferably in August.

The choice of August is based on hydrological studies indicating it is the month with the least rainfall in Brazil.

However, the execution of the calendar depends on the approval of the Annual Budget Law (LOA), which is scheduled for a vote on March 10 by the National Congress.

Strategies to Strengthen Public Administration

The second edition of the CPNU will include selections for two new cross-cutting careers, created through Provisional Measure 1,280/2024.

The career of Policy Development for Justice and Defense will serve the Ministry of Defense and the Institutional Security Office (GSI), while the career of Socioeconomic Development will cover areas such as regional, agrarian, and economic development.

Both careers require a higher education degree, with starting salaries of R$ 9,000, potentially reaching R$ 22,000.

Modernization and Efficiency in Public Management

Minister Dweck emphasized that the new careers aim to replace obsolete positions, promoting a more efficient and integrated public management.

The focus is on cross-cutting careers capable of serving multiple ministries, breaking away from the traditional model of isolated careers, optimizing resources, and responding to the strategic demands of public administration.

Success of the CPNU and Commitment to Inclusion

The National Unified Public Competition was conceived as an innovative public policy, aimed at democratizing access to public service.

The first edition saw the participation of 970,037 people, with tests held in 228 cities and 3,647 locations, allowing candidates to take the exam as close to their homes as possible.

The approval data reflects the commitment of the Federal Government to conduct a democratic and inclusive CPNU, with Brazilian women and men from all 27 states and 908 cities selected.

Moreover, one-third of the new public servants are Black, Indigenous, and people with disabilities, reinforcing the importance of affirmative actions for the transformation of the Brazilian State.

Future of the CPNU and Impact on Society

With the new edition of the CPNU, the Government seeks not only to fill vacancies in public service but also to modernize the federal administration, making it more representative and inclusive.

Minister Dweck stressed that the goal is to have a public service that reflects the diversity of Brazil, ensuring that public policies increasingly meet the needs of the population.
