Honda’s Entry SUV Expected to Be Revealed This November in Brazil, Days Before the Auto Show
The launch of the new generation of the Honda WR-V is closer than anticipated. Although the initial forecast was that the compact SUV would debut during the São Paulo Auto Show, scheduled for the end of November, it seems that the Japanese brand has decided to bring the debut forward. Sources connected to the industry indicate that the presentation will take place days before the event, which should provide more visibility to the model—and avoid competition with the intense movement of Black Friday, according to the website Motor1.
The strategy has not been officially confirmed, but during the launch of the new HR-V 2026, Honda hinted that the WR-V reveal will not happen at the Auto Show, but rather a bit earlier.
Familiar Engine and CVT Automatic Transmission
The new WR-V will initially be offered in two versions, EX and EXL. Both will feature the same 1.5 flex engine with direct injection already present in the City hatch and sedan. The transmission will always be a CVT automatic, reinforcing the urban and comfortable proposal of the SUV. For now, there will be no option for a manual transmission, and the anticipated Touring version—the top of the line in the brand’s models—has not yet been mentioned.

New Design and More Space Onboard
The previous generation of the WR-V was derived from the Fit, but that is now in the past. The new model has its own design and positions itself in Honda’s lineup between the City and the HR-V. This change follows the same logic as Volkswagen by offering the Nivus and T-Cross SUVs: two models close in size but with distinct proposals.
Produced at the factory in Itirapina (SP), the WR-V 2026 will be the first result of the R$ 4.2 billion investment that Honda announced for Brazil by the end of the decade.
Larger Dimensions and Expanded Trunk
Larger inside and out, the new WR-V has gained in proportions. It measures 4.31 meters in length, 1.79 m in width, 1.65 m in height and 2.65 m in wheelbase. The ground clearance is generous: 220 mm. The trunk, one of its highlights, now offers 458 liters, an increase that should please families and those in need of space.
More Technology and Safety
The official list of features has not yet been released by Honda, but based on the models sold in India and Japan, a generous package is expected. Among the highlights, the following are likely to appear:
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Lane departure warning with active assist
- Adaptive cruise control
- Automatic high beams
- Wireless smartphone charger
- Multimedia system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
At least some of these items should be present in the EXL version.
