The New National Identity Card (CIN) Brings Incredible Facilities for Brazilians! Learn How to Get It for Free!

Until 2032, the National Identity Card (CIN) will replace the current ID and will become mandatory throughout Brazil. With this change, you will be freed from the need to carry five different documents, since the new card allows automatic entry for Brazilians into eight countries. “Goodbye, paperwork!” is what many are thinking.

Which Documents Will Be Replaced by the New ID?

Don’t worry, the documents will not be revoked, but now they will be gathered in one single place. The new CIN will feature a QR Code that will display all the document numbers and can be accessed through the government platform, gov.br. Check out which documents will be in the new card:

  • Voter Registration Card
  • Work Card
  • National Driver’s License (CNH)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Card
  • General Registry (RG)

In Which Countries Will the New ID Allow Automatic Entry for Brazilians?

The CIN will make life easier for travelers by allowing automatic entry into countries in the Mercosur. For countries outside the bloc, a passport will still be necessary. Here are the Mercosur countries that will accept the new identity:

  • Argentina
  • Brazil
  • Paraguay
  • Uruguay
  • Bolivia
  • Venezuela (suspended from all rights and obligations)

And also the associated countries:

  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • Ecuador (in negotiation to become a full state)
  • Guyana
  • Peru
  • Suriname

How to Request the National Identity Card (CIN) and What Is the Deadline?

To request the first issue of the CIN, you must visit the issuing agency in your state in person, just as you would for any identification document. To do this, it is necessary to present:

· Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate

· Minors under 16 years must be accompanied by a legal guardian

· Regularized CPF

After presenting and verifying the documents, the responsible agency will validate your registration in Gov.br and inform you of the deadline for picking up the physical version of the new card.

The deadline for issuing the CIN is until 2032, when the document will become mandatory for everyone. “ So, it’s better to hurry and get yours! ” Don’t leave it for later, take the opportunity to stay updated!

The New Era of Identification

With the new National Identity Card, you will be prepared for a more practical and secure identification process. The CIN not only simplifies daily life but also represents a significant advancement in how Brazilians identify themselves and move around the world. Stay tuned for updates and don’t miss the chance to adapt to this essential change!
